Easy New Year’s Eve Drinks
Here are six of my favorite drinks for the holidays, adult and children. I carried on with my second year tradition of serving Strawberry Boba Bubble Tea for Christmas which made my daughter and grandchildren very happy. For New Year’s Eve I will have Mimosa’s. Our family is not big drinkers but I do enjoy these simple yet festive drinks.

Thank you Ned!
thanks for these, and growing up in michgan, happy to hear that the hummer originated at the Bayview Yacht Club, my parents used to make these at holiday parties when I was growing up.
I had never heard of the hummer until my friend, Linda Schaub, told me to check it out.
my parents used to drink them at parties years ago for special occasions
Strawberry boba is also T’s favourite flavour for boba! Wishing you all a happy new years ahead. We’ll see if I stay up for the countdown this year. 🤣
I had a huge container of the boba balls and I only had about 3/4 cup of them. My granddaughter filled her reusable glass to the top and snuck out the door when they left. I asked my husband to put away the container and he said it’s empty! 😂 It has become a tradition (along with all the others) on Christmas. Did you stay awake? I have celebrate alone with Ryan Seacrest and Dick Clark for years, my husband never stays awake. lol
We were able to stay up for the countdown this year! Our first time since 2021! 😁
T too? I bet he loved that if he was up. We use to buy a bottle of sparkling grape juice then we all toasted in champagne glasses at the new year. The kids loved that, I had so many traditions. 🤣
Yup, T stayed up. I went straight to bed after the countdown. 😁 He and the hubby stayed up a bit after.
Sparkling grape juice is a great idea. I’m gonna have to try that for next NYE!
That was nice!
Thanks for the bubble tea explanation – I was aware of it but didn’t know what was in it or the history of it!
If not for my grandkids, I would never know it existed. We rarely eat out but the grandkids love eating out. They tried to talk me into trying one but I wasn’t going to when the owner came to the table (she knows my husband) and she gave me one for free, I was hooked!
Interesting assortment. My favorite is, of course, hot chocolate. If I want to make it special, I put a teaspoon or two of Amaretto in the cup.
Now that sounds delicious Linda!
Go for it Goddess! Drink up and have a happy new year!
Thank you JC, I hope you had a wonderful New Year too!
Great drink choices Diane, the first one sounds really delicious !
Thank you Susan, we don’t usually drink but I like to have something to offer my family when they come.
They all look good Diane … we may need a few in the Detroit area after this big wind/sleet event we have coming on the 29th. Thank you again for the mention for the Hummer. I did enjoy when we had them when I worked at the ad agency, which seems like a hundred years ago now (more like 47).
Thanks so much Linda and you’re welcome. You have given me so many ideas for my blog.
Thank you Diane! I’m happy to pass along tidbits to you when I see them. I told Mackenzie to check out your blog because she wants to learn how to make sourdough bread. I told her about the Ace Sourdough Bistro bread at Meijer and she liked it, but she still wants to learn about it.
My DIL made sourdough from a starter for the first time and now she keeps making it and giving it away, she has a large family!
They are happy she is “practicing” on them!
I’ll take one of each.
Only if I can join you! Lol
Thanks for sharing and explaining the Boba Bubble Tea!
You’re welcome, they were introduced to me by my granddaughter. It is a very unique drink.
I have tried a few these! Good list! White Russian, mimosa, and Bloody Mary. Not often but special occasions for sure. 👍 😎
Christmas is the only time I make them. We aren’t much for drinking but I love every one of these for a special occasion like you. Have a great day!
Nice collection of drink recipes, though I will have to skip the idea of making a White Russian as there was a terrible (ha!) aftermath I experienced of two many of them when I was in Nursing school and following the lead of some of my more experienced drinker classmates!
That will do it! Lol
