Slow Cooker Beef & Broccoli With Rice
Made with sirloin steak, broccoli, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts and a delicious sauce cooked in the slow cooker for an easy meal that can be served with rice.
Ingredients – You could also
add onions and mushrooms!
In a slow cooker add the beef broth,
soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil
and garlic then stir until the
brown sugar is dissolved.
Place prepared steak into the sauce.
Try to keep the steak in a single layer.
Cook on low for 4 – 6 hours. I found
4 hours to be plenty of time for me.
In a small bowl add 4 Tbsp. of the
sauce from the slow cooker. Add
the cornstarch and using a fork,
whisk to combine.
Push the steak pieces to one end of the
slow cooker and pour the cornstarch
mixture into the broth. Whisk to combine.
Add the broccoli, cover and continue to
cook until the broccoli it to your liking,
about 1/2 hour.
Add the bamboo shoots and water chestnuts.
Stir and cook until hot, a few minutes.
Then serve with rice.

Video of chopped raw carrots being flushed down a toilet is an ad posted with your recipe. May not be as appetising as you require for your site. I know you don’t have a choice.

The ads are horrible and yes I have no control over them. That’s why you don’t see ads in my blog except at the top and bottom. I agree it is so unappealing.

Ok. Just so long as you’re aware.

It’s funny because all I see is ads for Lowes and a realty company. They have cut what they pay me to almost nothing. I am assuming it is the virus. Good thing I do this because I love to, not for an income…lol

This looks much better than the recipe that I have used in the past. I like the idea of the bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. Very delectable presentation Diane.

Thank you I was very pleased with the taste. I would have liked to have added mushrooms too but I left them out because my husband isn’t crazy about them and I just made a mushroom recipe a few days ago.

I pinned it for later, but will add mushrooms to the notes as I think it would be great with them. Thanks for the tip.

I love easy slow cooker recipes. I just learned of a cover that absorbs moisture. Have you experience with these? What can you make? Thanks for your post.

As I read this, I’m seeing a picture of three women obviously suffering from indigestion. (“The Common Signs of Colitis”) VERY inappropriate. You have my sympathy. The recipe looks fantastic, though. I’m saving it until I can be freer with the grocery shopping. 😉

I’m confused, is that what is showing up in my advertising? Mine shows a realty place and hardware store. Anyhow, thank you for the nice comment about my recipe. It is very good and easy to make. I love cooking in the slow cooker. Stay healthy!!!

It was there, then something else was there a minute later. I think you may be right, that something is malfunctioning.

Sounds great. I can almost smell it. We often use our slow cooker. Having solar, cooking during the day saves on THEIR bill.

I could live by the slow cooker. The only thing I don’t like cooked in it is pasta. Thanks!

Great recipe, Diane, it will come in handy as we enter the cooler months here in Australia. I generally use gravy beef or chuck steak for slow cooking dishes so it will be interesting to try this!!

Well, it’s weird. It’s not everything, just a few words like comment and like and whatnot. Nothing that you’ve written. It’s not really an issue, just an interesting quirk.
