Apple Cider Doughnut Cake Recipe

I’m getting ready to make my annual Apple Cider Doughnut Bundt Cake and I have to share it for those that may have missed it last year. It’s fall and that means apple cider time. I found the perfect tasting cider this year, I haven’t had some this delicious in quite a few years.

Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful texture
Thank you so much Derrick!
So delicious 🥰👏
Thank you!
This sounds delicious. I am sure that the taste relies upon getting good cider.
I haven’t had a good cider for probably 3-4 years. It has all tasted like apple juice. This year was an amazing jug of cider which, of course, made for a much better cake. Thank you Bernadette and enjoy the weekend.
This looks beautiful Diane!
Thank you Dorothy!
Very fitting for the season and it looks very moist Diane. I have noticed Meijer carries a cherry Honeycrisp apple cider. It is canned, maybe a six-pack? It is not in a regular plastic-type jug. I keep thinking I’ll buy it but haven’t yet. Have you tried it?
I have never heard of canned cider before so I just looked it up. You devil Linda, it is all age restricted so it is spiked. 🤣 The half gallon I had Terry get at Meijer’s was Blakes and it was the best I have had in years
Oh – I never looked at it closely but it was not with the alcohol/beer, but with the cider and caramel apples, so I assumed. Guess I assumed wrong. 🙂 We have a Blakes Cider Mill here in Michigan – that’s Michigan cider then or you have a Blakes too? Blakes Cider Mill usually opens Labor Day weekend for cider and hot donuts. Years ago we went to a produce market that had limited quantities of Honeycrisp apple cider in the Fall, maybe a quart, or maybe even a pint. It was very light-colored cider, but tasty.
I think canned cider would be so much better for me. It takes me a while to drink a half gallon. A gallon usually goes bad on me because there is so much. With the cans I could have it for a longer time. We don’t have a Blakes Cider Mill here, wish we did! It was the best cider I have ever had.
Yes, same for me – it gets murky in the bottom with sediment if you keep it too long. I didn’t realize they sent the cider out of state. Hmm.
I just finished last weeks half gallon and put another one on the list for tomorrow. I never buy more than half a gallon a year but my gosh it was so delicious!
I’m guessing it’s a limited supply so I say “go for it!” When I was at the ad agency back in 1978-79, one of the art directors lived near the Franklin Cider Mill, the other popular local cider mill. In the Fall, once a week he would go to the cider mill and bring in half-gallons of cider and fresh donuts for our whole Creative Department (about 40 of us). The donuts were so fresh, there was grease on the brown paper bags. Wonderful stuff!
That was so nice of the director! My mouth is watering just reading that!
Yes, we all looked forward to that weekly treat as soon as the cider mill opened ’til it closed for the season.
Me too, we had the best cider mill about 10 miles down our road and then it suddenly closed permanently. I was so happy to find the one from Michigan at Meijer’s.
Hopefully they have it around for a while longer. I wish they would have the Honeycrisp apple cider. If they ever have some at your store or a produce market, you have to try it – it is delicious!
That sounds good since the apples are a sweet tart apple, I love tart.
This looks absolutely delicious!! Tis the time of year-thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your nice comment!
I love your Bundt cake mould! And the cake looks delicious. Apple cider is one of the nice things about these cooler autumn days!
I have a four mini Bundt cake pan too. It is perfect to give each smaller Bundt cake to family or to freeze three for later and one to eat now. Thank you Ab!
At first I was thinking “apple cider vinegar.” I’m glad I reread it!😂
That would have been some delicious vinegar. lol
I remember this recipe from earlier on your blog Diane. I’m going to save it now – it looks really nice and easy to make (I’ll even try to master the bundt pan).
And how about using a light cider with 3% alcohol … I wonder if that will work – then I can use half for the cake and drink the other half 😂.
Hahaha I do like the way you think Corna!
I saved this to my Cake board on Pinterest. I’ll bet it smells wonderful, too!
It sure does Janet, thank you my friend!
