Slow Cooker Hearty Beef Stew

This Hearty Beef Stew meat turns out so moist and tender you will be wanting more. Everything goes into the slow cooker so clean up is a breeze. I never buy stew meat, I use chuck roast and cut it into my desired size. That is a tip a butcher taught me.

Place the cubed meat into the slow cooker.

Add the flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder and Worcestershire sauce.

Toss well with the meat.

Add the vegetables.

Add the beef broth (I use beef Better Than Bouillon for delicious flavor), then stir making sure the vegetables are in the broth as much as possible. Place the bay leaf under the liquid.

Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours then discard the bay leaf. We love our vegetables completely cooked but not mushy so keep an eye on yours and cook to your desired taste. This is excellent as leftovers too, enjoy!

A real crowd pleaser Diane
Thank you Sheree!
That looks like the best comfort food ever… conjures memories of being safe with family 💕
Thank you so much!
I love beef stew and this recipe is so easy. You are truly a goddess!
Not a goddess, I just like easy! 🤣 Thank you JC!
Okay. But I’ll stick with goddess. 🤣🤣
That looks delicious, Diane. I also prefer to use beef Chuck instead of stewing beef and love it. We recently tried swapping out potatoes with barley and it’s good too. Might make some stew this weekend now! 😆
What a great idea, we love barley. It would make a thicker broth as well. Thank you!
This is a great recipe, Diane. Stew is one of our favorite go-to’s for fall and winter.
Thank you Kellye, this is one my husband always raves about.
It looks like a delicious plate of food (and yes, it’s definitely that type of dish that are even tastier the next day) … IF there are any leftovers!
Hahaha That’s so true but my husband did get a huge bowl the next day. Thank you Corna!
That’s my favorite way to fix beef stew!
The meat just falls apart and fixing it is a breeze.
One of our faves. We had it earlier this week
It’s been so chilly it was perfect for this week.
I also don’t buy stew beef. I use rump roast, round roast, chuck roast, whatever is on sale and cut it up. I love that there is no browning, or sauteing and that it all just goes in the crockpot. Saving this one.
Right there is no need to, they charge so much more just to cut it up and you don’t end up with as much meat when you buy stew beef. Thank you Carla!
The easier the better and it is a delicious-looking, hearty meal.
You are so kind Linda! 💕
The bowl that’s in is so darling, and it looks great!
Thank you Betsy!
Great recipe for when I can’t be in the kitchen and allow the slow cooker to work its magic. 👏
Thanks for sharing, Diane! ☺️
I love my slow cooker, food is always so tender and delicious cooked in it. You’re very welcome Katherine!
Mine sadly got broken recently and they said they’re working to fix it as soon as possible. 🥲
I love the puffy rice at the slow cooker, it’s so delicious.
Thanks again! ☺️
You’re welcome Katherine!

You’re very welcome Mary, I get a lot of compliments every time I make it.
