It’s Not Goodbye!

TO MY BLOGGING FAMILY AND EVERYONE THAT FOLLOWS ME:

These past nine years have been challenging, fun and exciting all at the same time. I never dreamed I would have over two million hits and over 8,000 followers on my site. My website will shut down on May 23rd but I will still have my Facebook account for you to get recipes.

I will slowly continue to add my existing recipes to my Facebook page “In Dianes Kitchen”. All of my recipes currently on my Facebook page “In Dianes Kitchen” have the picture of the recipe with the website link to view the recipe. Since you will have no way to view that recipe, I will start adding the recipe to every past post. This will take some time to complete so please be patient. Once I add the recipes to the existing posts, I will then start adding the rest of my recipes one at a time.

Thank you for all of your very nice comments and friendship, I hope you visit my Facebook page and give me a chance to get everything caught up before I start adding new recipes.

    • My FB is In Dianes Kitchen. I have heard a lot of people using Substack, however, I have no idea how to do that. I assume I need to keep Go Daddy then delete WP?

  1. Okay Goddess. I was really sad to read this. Personally, you were an inspiration to me and probably many others. Your columns have always been thoughtful and informative to say the least. More to come.

    • You have always given me the nicest comments JC, thank you for that! I’m hoping I can still have fun posting on my In Dianes Kitchen FB account. I have a lot of work to do saving each recipe before the 23rd. My WP renews in June but then Go Daddy is renewing on the 23rd. Now I’m in panic mode copying all my recipes. Have a nice day JC.

  2. Diane will this mean that all the recipes I saved of yours will now disappear? I’ve saved a lot of them. If there is a way to save them other than going through my hundreds of recipes and copying and pasting them to word documents, please let me know how to do that. Thanks.

I wish you the best in the future.

    • Unfortunately yes you will lose them as will I. So I am in the process of making screen shots of 9 years of recipes. My plan is to post them on FB one at a time. I am keeping the recipes in the cloud so if there is a recipe you need down the road, let me know and I will see if I can find it then I will make that my next post. Thank you Katelon!

      • Thanks Diane. I have one blog for travel and I ran out of media library room so will have to pay for blog to get more room. I just posted for the first time in a year on my empower blog. The classic option was gone and I couldn’t get a task bar to show up so my font choices were small, medium, large. I was so frustrated.

      • That’s what happened to me. I had to go to the business plan because of all my recipes. By then I didn’t want to quit and lose everything I worked so hard for and I kept paying them $300.00 a year. The ads amounted to pennies a day so I’m not doing it for the money. One of my followers told me about substack, it’s free. If I can figure it out I will move there.

  3. I am glad you will still be on Facebook. I just found you and followed you. Don’t forget about making a recipe book! 🙂

  4. Hi Diane, I’m glad you’re ok! I was worried something had happened to you as it’s almost been a while since you updated.

I’m so sorry you’re leaving WordPress but good to know you’ll still be updating Facebook. I’ll look for it now.

    Take care and best wishes!

  5. I will certainly miss your blog, Diane. I will look for you on Facebook. I don’t envy you of all the work and time it will take to add those recipes to Facebook. don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Take care. See you on Facebook!

    • Thank you so much Janet. I am doing a screen shot of just the recipes (9 years worth) and hopefully I can copy and paste the recipe. Thanks for the follow on FB.

  6. I’m sorry to hear this Diane even though you know I am not a cook or baker. Next you should publish a cookbook – you have all the recipes … think about it.

  7. Substack is a free blogging site and very, very easy to use. You can put a link in WP to have your followers cross over.

Many coaches and bloggers are switching to substack. You can set it up as free or subscription starting at $5.00

Substack function independently from Go Daddy’s. You don’t need a web hosting site.

Here’s my link check it out and subscribe to their free site and experiment.
