Did You Know – Instant Mashed Potato Flakes

Did you know that if you make soup or stew, and the broth didn’t turn out thick enough, you can add a spoonful of Instant Mashed Potato Flakes to thicken it? If a spoonful doesn’t quite do it, just add more until you reach your desired thickness.

Thank you!
I appreciate another great idea/tip!
You are very welcome. 🥰
This is a GREAT hint. Thanks for sharing, Diane!
You’re welcome Kellye!
Thank you Ned❣️
This is now a top tip! Thanks Diane!
You are welcome🥰
It’s a great trick!
I just knew that these things had some divine use. And it took my kitchen mentor to figure it out. Another great tip. You should write a book.
Awe thanks! That is so funny you say that about writing a cookbook, I just asked a follower about a book she posted about writing a book. Have a great week JC!
Handy tip!
Thank you!
I never thought of this
Works great and adds flavor compared to flour or cornstarch.
I hadn’t thought of that. Thanks for all the tips you share, Diane.
You’re welcome Janet!🥰
I also use them in place of flour when breading chicken, etc.
That’s brilliant!!!!!!!! I have to try that. Thank you Bernadette❣️
I use this trick quite often! Glad that great minds think alike!
Yes they do. Lol
I guess that makes a lot of sense cuz of the starchy quality of the instant mashed potato mix. I usually used a corn starch slurry but this makes sense too!
You are right and much easier than a slurry.
I did not know this! Good tip Diane! My soup failures will now be in the past! Hugs, C
Thank you Cheryl, I’m sure you seldom have failures! 🥰
Great tip
Thank you!
That’s a wonderful cooking tip there, Diane. I agree. 👏
Thank you Lamittan
Most welcome, my friend.
Oooh that is a brilliant idea, thanks!
Thank you Tierney! Have a great weekend.
I didn’t know that Diane. I do that with my oatmeal. You know I make it up dry ahead of time. Sometimes I’m extra hunger and I add another few spoonfuls of oatmeal just from the box (no formality with me) to give my oatmeal some oomph.
I love what you do with oatmeal. I love it but I don’t eat breakfast and sometimes have it for a snack. Lol
I’ve been known to have oatmeal a second time in the day, especially on a cold Winter’s day or evening. 🙂
