Did You Know – Instant Mashed Potato Flakes

Did you know that if you make soup or stew, and the broth didn’t turn out thick enough, you can add a spoonful of Instant Mashed Potato Flakes to thicken it? If a spoonful doesn’t quite do it, just add more until you reach your desired thickness.

I just knew that these things had some divine use. And it took my kitchen mentor to figure it out. Another great tip. You should write a book.

I guess that makes a lot of sense cuz of the starchy quality of the instant mashed potato mix. I usually used a corn starch slurry but this makes sense too!

You are right and much easier than a slurry.

I didn’t know that Diane. I do that with my oatmeal. You know I make it up dry ahead of time. Sometimes I’m extra hunger and I add another few spoonfuls of oatmeal just from the box (no formality with me) to give my oatmeal some oomph.

I love what you do with oatmeal. I love it but I don’t eat breakfast and sometimes have it for a snack. Lol

I’ve been known to have oatmeal a second time in the day, especially on a cold Winter’s day or evening. 🙂
