Pumpkin Roll
I am so excited because the holiday baking is just about here! This is a great dessert to serve for Thanksgiving. I love this Pumpkin Roll not just because of how delicious it tastes, but also because I can make it a week ahead of time, freeze it and thaw it in the refrigerator the day before I need it. Just before serving I slice it and sprinkle it with powdered sugar. Your family will be amazed that you made this one!

Perfect for the season
Yes one of our annual treats! Thanks Beth!
I am on my way to 500 pounds!
Thatβs why you make it, wrap each of the pieces in waxed paper and freeze. Then just take out one at a time. Iβm not sure that will help the 500 pounds but it sounds better! π€£πππ€£π
)))
Wow!! this looks so beautiful ππ
Thank you they are so much fun to make but better to eat…lol
Way too early to get excited about autumn recipes.
First day of Autumn here was yesterday. My favorite season.
Weβre still enjoying summer
I love these!! I look forward to my mom making them all year.
I could definitely eat them all year! I also make a chocolate one filled with a white filling like a Ho Ho.
I bet that one’s good, too!!

Looks so yummy! I will be making this for Halloween! π
Enjoy it is perfect for Halloween!
It looks great, Diane. Iβve always been curious about how people make these rolls. Now I know! Enjoy it. And I look forward to your Thanksgiving posts later this fall. Can only imagine the feast youβll whip up!
We were invited to my sons house!!! I hinted last year that it was getting to be too much trying to do everything and take care of 2 grandkids. I guess it worked!!! I look forward to making just one or two things this year. Time for the grown up children to start doing it some of the time. Lol
That looks great Diane….I saved the recipe for Thanksgiving, as I am not a big fan of pumpkin pie.
Thank you Joni! This is perfect to replace the pie but of course I have to have both! ππ€£π
Do you just love the seasonal foods and snacks? I really do, it’s like pumpkin and spice everything until December. π
I do love them! I make all my same traditional foods for each holiday.
I really want to try making it this year. I love eating this treat when someone else makes it, so I guess it is my turn. I pinned it last year when you posted it.
The only thing you need is help flipping the cake from the towel. Otherwise it is so easy and fun to make. The first time I made it I didnβt wrap it tight enough and the cake separated from the cream cheese filling. I never did that again..lol The thing is, even if it doesnβt look perfect, it will taste great. Every one you make will get better and better looking. And of course you must cut the ends off even so it looks great. That is my taste test….the ends!ππ€£π
My kids don’t care how it looks, as long as it tastes good. Yes, every cook has to taste test. I am going to give it a go.
Great let me know how it turns out. I bet it will be a huge success!
Looks delicious! π
Thank you Temi we have one of these every year.
Delicious photography…
Awww thanks Matt!
So pretty! I love Fall & holiday baking, too : )
Itβs great because all of the outside work is done and everyone looks forward to their favorite dessert. One year I decided to leave one dessert out and you would have thought the world came to an end! Lol
This looks fantastic!!!
Thanks Bernice it is one of my favorite desserts to eat!
I can see why!! Perfect time of year. πππ
This post made me smile and sad at the same time. My mom use to make this pumpkin roll. Everyone loved it. She passed away 2 years ago. I miss her a lot.
Awww it is so difficult to lose a loved one, especially a parent. Iβm glad it made you smile and brought back memories.
I seriously want to visit.
Hahahaha you keep saying that! You should see the chocolate one I make with a white filling. Looks like a giant Ho-Ho!
I’ve made pumpkin roll in the past – YUM! This post is inspiring me to make it again. Looking forward to Fall and Winter cooking and baking!
Me too Tierney! I love to freeze them and if you get unexpected guests you can give them one to take home.
Oh that is brilliant – I am going to do that! We recently got an inexpensive refrigerator/freezer for the garage and now I want to do a bunch of premade meals!
Oh I get that! I have a refrigerator/freezer and a chest freezer in my garage. We tried to eliminate the refrigerator/freezer but it just didnβt work.
Wow! this cake is very delicate and beautiful to look at !! And the taste must be good too!
The pumpkin and cream cheese filling is a wonderful combination. It is a great cake for entertaining or family get togethers. Thank you so much!
That looks so good, but I don’t want to make it, I just want to eat it lmao
Hahahaha it is fun to make but more fun to eat! Thanks!
Looks so pretty and beautifully done Diane. Kudos to you!
Thank you so much!!!!β€
Thank you!
That looks so delicious, I want to have it just now ππππππ
I know what you mean! I have no will power when this is around. Thank you Shaheen!
Thanks!π
Oh, this is another flash from the past as my mom used to make these Pumpkin Rolls all the time Diane. They are so good and when it was just the two of us, she’s slice it, separate it with parchment paper or wax paper then freeze it and just defrost a piece at a time. Then we discovered Kroger’s carried pumpkin rolls in their refrigerated cakes and we started getting it there in later years.
I heard Krogers were very good. I just refuse to pay that price for something I can make. That was a great way to freeze the slices and perfect portion control!
Oh I agree with you Diane. In the last five or so years of my Mom’s life, she insisted on still doing all the cooking, baking, so I would see comparable items and if they “measured up” with her cooking/baking, I’d convince her to get them rather than spending so much time in the kitchen. It was difficult for her standing with orthopedic issues and also cellulitis in her legs (it caused her legs to burn sometimes). So, that was one of my discoveries. Yes, try that Diane and then you only need to defrost how many slices you want at a time. With only two of us in the house, we went that route – otherwise we’d be eating it until it was gone.
Just told my hubby I was going to make one of these in the next couple of weeks. I canβt wait for Thanksgiving. π
I canβt wait either. I donβt have to cook so I can just make some fun stuff! I hope he loves it!
I’m going to make one of these this week! So yummy! π
Perfect timing! Enjoy, mine never seem to last very long…lol
LOL That’s how you know people love it! π
Thatβs true…lol!
