Easy Chicken Cheddar Sandwich Melt
A seasoned chicken breast in between two thick sliced, buttered and grilled pieces of bread, melted cheddar cheese, honey mustard (or your favorite) slathered inside with apple slices and lettuce or other shredded vegetable. I made this in a cooking class and it tasted amazing!
In a small bowl or container
toss the vegetable, apple, thyme,
salt, pepper and lemon juice.
In a medium skillet over medium heat,
melt the butter.
Place both pieces of bread into the
skillet soaking up the butter.
Spread the honey mustard
on each piece of bread.
Place one piece of cheese on
top of each piece of bread.
When the cheese is soft and the bread
is golden brown on the bottom, remove
the pan from the heat and add the chicken
on top of the cheese on one piece of bread.
Add the apple mixture to the other piece
of bread. Lightly press the chicken and
apple mixture into the cheese.
Carefully place the two pieces of bread
together and serve immediately.

That looks delicious, and easy to make too!
Is really was Saania! Thanks so much!
This sounds delicious and your picture of the finished product is drool worthy! I especially like that the cheese is cheddar 😃and not a slice of processed goo 😝.
Awwww thank you! I think the cheddar cheese is what made this so good. I always use processed American cheese and the cheddar cheese with the apple made for a fantastic flavor.
Thanks so much John!!!!
You’re very welcome!!
Next time could you please leave out the tantalizing smells… Yes, it looks that good! You’re wicked😋

Merci, deaur Diane – 🙂 amitiés
It really had an amazing combination of flavor. Thank you so much!
I love this! I can’t stop staring at the finished product!
It tasted as good as it looks! We actually used shredded brussel sprouts I just put lettuce because not too many people like brussel sprouts. They tasted really different raw than cooked. Very mild and added another great flavor. Thank you Diana!
I don’t think I’ve ever had brussel sprouts, but I’ll give it a try. You’re most welcome!
This looks so delicious!
Thank you Nancy!❤️

Chicken, apples, and honey mustard looks like a delicious combination. The cooking class that you took sounds very useful.
It really has I never would have tried that combination and it was fabulous!
That looks so delicious – it is how you/I like last night’s dinner repurposed into a big, fat sandwich. 🙂
Oh yes! Sometimes it’s all I want but I actually shared this one with my hubby!
Nothing better – even putting leftover stuffing on it … yum.

Looks so good! Not even 7:00am but I’m thinking of lunch already!
Looks absolutely delicious, but I know I will make a mess. I still want to try it though.
It’s really not that messy. If you get the cheese melted on each piece of bread most of the filling sticks to it. Thank you!
Yum!! So simple, but yet so brilliant.
Aw thank you! ❤️
I love apples in my sammies & salads! Looks delish!
I had never tried it before this…so good! Thank you!
Oh my gosh! This looks amazing. I would use rotisserie chicken as you mentioned. I do not care for sandwiches but this is my kind!
This one blew me away! It is not something I would have ever made or tried and my goodness was it fabulous!
That is the best!!
