Broccoli Apple Bacon Salad


What a delicious combination with broccoli, onion, apples, cranberries, sunflower seeds and did I mention there is an entire 1/2 pound of bacon!!! All that goodness tossed with a homemade sweet and sour dressing made this a wonderful salad. This was another recipe from a class that I attended.






In a large bowl add the broccoli.



Add the bacon and the onion.



Add the apples, sunflower

seeds and cranberries.



 In a small bowl whisk the dressing

ingredients and pour them

into the broccoli mix.



Toss until everything is

coated with the dressing.



Cover and refrigerate at least

one hour then serve.


Broccoli Apple Bacon Salad



Salad Ingredients:

  • 1 head fresh broccoli (rinsed, patted dry and chopped into bitesize pieces)
  • 1/2# bacon (cooked crisp and crumbled)
  • 1/2 red onion, diced
  • 2 small apples (peeled, diced and tossed in the 1 Tbsp. lemon juice below)
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries

Dressing Ingredients:

  1. 1 & 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  2. 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  3. 2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
  4. 1/4 tsp salt
  5. 1/8 tsp pepper


  1. In a large bowl add the broccoli, bacon, onions, apples, sunflower seeds and cranberries.
  2. In a small bowl combine the dressing ingredients and whisk until combined.
  3. Pour the dressing into the broccoli bowl and toss well until all of the ingredients are combined and coated in the dressing.
  4. Cover and refrigerate at least one hour then serve.
