Have you ever tasted delicious Boiled Cider? I wish I could have bottled up the smell in our house and the taste…..WOW! I started with 2 gallons of cider and gently boiled it down to 2-3/4 pints! That’s it, so simple! Boiled Cider is a syrup that is used over ice cream, oatmeal, yogurt, use instead of honey, brush on grilled veggies, mix with BBQ sauce or whatever you want to use it with! Store it in the refrigerator in a jar with a tight lid for up to 3 months.

    • It is the most intense amazing flavor! It takes time boiling it down. The first time I did 2 gallons I had it simmering instead of boiling and it took 7 hours! But the house smelled great the entire time…lol

  1. *Note: The original recipe calls for unpasteurized apple cider. But it works with pasteurized also, if you add one washed, cored, sliced, but NOT peeled apple to the boiling mix, then lift it out near the end with a slotted spoon and eat immediately over ice cream. or yogurt. or on toast. YUM!!

  2. I will check out that Facebook page for more yummy recipes.
    Thanks for the tip.

I live a couple of hours from Apple Hill in Placerville California. They sell apple cider, apple donuts, apple and berry pies, turnovers, fritters and all sorts of delicious treats. It’s family friendly and you can also find wineries there too.

Here is my latest blog about it.
