Happy Independence Day- 2024

Celebrating Independence Day isn’t just a day to have a picnic and get a day off of work, but a day that marks the historic date in 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was approved by the Continental Congress. The written declaration stated that the American colonies were tired of being ruled by Great Britain. They wanted to become their own country.

Enjoy your family, friends, good food and have a fun and safe celebration.

    • Thank you so much! We stayed home and since there wasn’t anywhere for people to sit and I wasn’t cooking with a house like this, nobody showed up. 🤣 My daughter and grandkids came over the next day to shoot off fireworks they bought.

  2. Happy Fourth! Always remember why we have it. Remember those who gave their all so we could live as we do. Freedom has a price. You’re the best, Goddess.

  3. Happy Independence Day to you too Diane. Imagine the hoopla in two years when the U.S. celebrates 250 years. I was around for the 1976 hoopla.

      • I have not heard a word about what they will be doing for the 250th birthday – 1976 was pretty big though! It was quiet for me, not for my ears however. First night in a week with no fireworks.

      • I spoke too soon – I’ve heard a few pops as well since I wrote that comment. Hopefully everyone has to work tomorrow. My neighbor behind had a party until 1:30 a.m. today. Loud music and shouting. My bedroom is in the back of the house. I worried one of the guests might have brought fireworks.

      • They are not supposed to use them after the 5th, but they were doing it last night. They get to do fireworks until 11:45 from June 29th to July 5th which was way too long of a stretch in my opinion!
