Crispy Air Fried Drumsticks

I’m in love! I tried my favorite wet rub with baking powder. I put these drumsticks in my Air Fryer and WOW, they were crispy and moist! I munched on these for 3 days and I can’t wait to make more. I love when something that tastes this delicious is this easy!

Add the wet rub ingredients to a bowl, stir well and set aside.

Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Preheat the air fryer for 3 minutes at 400º.

Pat the drumsticks dry with a paper towel. Rub the drumsticks with the wet rub, coating them completely. Place them into the air fryer basket.

Cook for 16 minutes at 400º, check the temperature of the drumsticks and if not 165º continue to cook in 2 minute increments until the thickest part of the drumsticks are 165º. Check each drumstick as the larger drumsticks may take longer. If you lay your drumsticks flat in the basket, turn them over after 8 minutes.

  1. Drumsticks are the best, I ate all of it including the cartilage. And this recipe looks delicious and the rub does look easy to make!

  2. No air fryer in this kitchen (but you know that 🙂). We did have chicken for dinner last night … but we prepared it outside on the fire (not “air fryer yummy”, but “fire yummy”).

    • I wonder if you could cook with the wet rub on the fire or would it stick and come off? You could always put the wet rub under the skin I guess, I wish you could try the wet rub but I’m not a fire cooker so maybe it’s not possible.

      • We have spread a sauce on chicken before and then put it on the fire. And you’re right, it does stick to the grill a bit, but if you braai it on slow coals, it actually comes out really nice.

    • You will love your air fryer Christina. I even put this rub on a turkey and baked it, delicious as well! I’m glad you love this rub as much as I do. Thank you for telling me. 🥰
