Cajun Alfredo Penne Pasta & Sausage

A quick meal that is comfort food at it’s best! I used hot Italian sausage as it adds so much flavor, but you can use whatever sausage is your favorite. Cook your sausage and pasta, warm the Alfredo sauce and toss, it’s that easy!

Slice the sausage into 1/2″ pieces, cook them in a skillet over medium heat but do NOT add oil to the skillet.

Cook the sausage until golden brown on both sides and cooked through. Take a paper towel and carefully wipe out the grease on the skillet.

Add the Alfredo sauce, milk and cajun seasoning to the sausage. Cover and cook on low until hot but not boiling, stirring frequently.

Cook the penne pasta accordingly to package directions and drain.

Return pasta to hot pan.

Pour the Alfredo sauce with sausage over the pasta and toss until all of the pasta is coated with the sauce.

Then serve!

I’m with you, I love carbs but we try to lower our intake for my husband’s health. But they are the best!

Yes but add about half a block of Gorganzolla cheese to the sauce and it is a meal

I don’t think I have ever had Gorgonzola cheese Kevin. I’m not a lover of blue cheese but I believe this is milder than most blue cheeses so I may like this.

I have to admit that I’m a fan of anything with sausage in it! But add cheesy and creamy and pasta, and it’s practically scientifically engineered to make me want it! Thanks for the recipe!

Oh you two will cook up a storm!! I’m trying to catch up with all my favourite bloggers after a hectic month … Berto was in hospital for more than a week and in the operating room twice (his one lung was filled with fluid). He is now back at home, but it will take a long time to fully recover. However, we were blessed with my mother visiting us during this time, our friends who called often, as well as our church and Berto’s work colleagues (this just proved again how important it is to have a support system). Now, we appreciate life (and each other) just that much more!

OMG I am so sorry Berto (and you) have had to go through this. I’m so glad he’s doing better and is back home! Thank God for support systems, you surely needed it. Please give him my best and I will continue to pray for a complete recovery Corna.
