It’s Friday What’s For Dinner 11-11-22

Anyone that makes a homemade dinner is welcome to type the name of one recipe you prepared in the comments, then we can all scroll through the comments for recipe ideas. This will be a weekly Friday post and only recipes on the Friday posts will be allowed.

If someone wants your recipe and asks there will be no pressure to share it, it’s up to you. I will accept links, but only to the recipe, however it may take me a few days to approve it so I can make sure the link is legitimate and not spam. NO SPAM WILL BE ALLOWED, ONLY RECIPES OR YOU WILL BE BLOCKED.

I find the hardest part of making dinner isn’t the process, but figuring out what to make. So go ahead and post ONE RECIPE ONLY EACH FRIDAY in the comments or feel free to just read what others have made. Either way, I hope we all get some great ideas to make our meal planning easier.

My “It’s Friday What’s For Dinner” in the picture above is PORK CHOP SCHNITZEL.

  1. My husband loves the mashed potatoes in a tub. Me, not so much But I do like the convenience so I came up with a delicious way to fix and eat the tub mashers. I melt about a half stick of butter in a non-stick frying pan, add more if needed. I add a small or med. chopped onion and lightly brown them. When they are done to your liking add the tub of potatoes and brown them with the onions. Salt and pepper to taste and then serve.

  2. I recently created this and it turned out well.

    1 lb ground turkey
    1 can of diced tomatoes
    1 green pepper
    1 red pepper
    1 clove of garlic, minced
    1 cup of mushrooms
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 tbsp hot sauce
    1 tbsp olive oil

Sautée the peppers, garlic and mushrooms in the olive oil. Stir until softened (about 3 minutes). Add in the ground turkey and cook until browned, stirring occasionally. Add the salt and hot sauce and stir. Then add the can of diced tomatoes and stir occasionally. Let simmer for 10 minutes.

    Serve over brown rice.

    • Excellent recipe Jonetta! For anyone that thinks they don’t like ground turkey, add it to any recipe that calls for ground beef, you can’t tell the difference with recipes like this. I bet this was delicious over rice.

  3. Pork chops! Me too!
    Milk
    Good bbq sauce 2 tbsps.
1/2 Bread crumb/flour mix seasoned to taste
Combine the milk and the bbq sauce. Mix well.
Dredge the pork chop in the milk and cover with bread crumbs
    refrigerate for 1/2 hour
Grease a pan with vegetable oil
Bake the chops at 375 for 25-35 minutes depending on thickness turning once about midway through.
Tender, juicy and delicious. The bbq sauce just adds a nice touch.

  4. Sloppy Nachos 😋
I have an amazing homemade sloppy joe recipe. I got it from the baseball field I grew up spending a lot of time at. It’s the sloppy joe meat on top of tortilla chips, with nacho cheese sauce smothered on top. Not the healthiest of suppers, but we LOVE it!

  5. We had a ‘braai’ last night (you know, barbeque right 😉) and my husband made his new favourite: Cheese & Bacon Jalapeno Poppers.
Slice Jalapeno’s in half and remove the seeds. Mix fine grated cheddar cheese and cream cheese together. Fill each half with the cheese. Now, ‘stick’ the halves back together and wrap a piece of bacon around. You can use a toothpick to keep it together. Then it’s off to the coals. Turn them frequently that the bacon don’t burn. They are ready when the cheese starts to ooze out and the bacon is crispy. Enjoy while standing next to the fire and watching the stars … priceless!

  6. Oh, that looks awesome Diane. I’ve never had pork schnitzel, but had veal schnitzel but it would taste the same. My father was German and he liked it, so we had it along with beans with spaetzle and red saurkraut. I would love the schnitzel hot (then on a sandwich the next day). 🙂
