Slow Cooker Herbed Chicken Drumsticks

Did you know that you do not need to put liquid in the slow cooker to cook in it? These chicken drumsticks were cooked without any liquid and they were so easy, tender and delicious. This recipe can easily be doubled like I did.

In a small bowl combine the seasonings.

Place the drumsticks into a large bowl.

Drizzle oil over them and using your

hands rub the oil all over the chicken.

Sprinkle the seasonings on the chicken.

Using your hands, rub the seasonings all

over the chicken. Cover and let the

chicken sit in the refrigerator

overnight (optional).

Place the chicken in the slow cooker with

no liquid and cook on low for 6 hours.

Then serve!

    • I’m not really that creative either Betsy. We have our favorites which are the ones I grow. Occasionally I will change but pretty much use the same ones.

    • They were so good. My drumsticks were large and cooked through in 6 hours without falling apart. If you have small ones you may want to check the temperature in them sooner. Thank you Carla 💕

  1. No, I didn’t know that – I guess I’d assume it would burn or dry out. I usually just use cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup. I’m not as adventurous as you Diane!

      • I saw that, I didn’t say anything when I replied to that post, I figured I would let her ask if she wanted to. Her baby and puppy are so adorable. They look like wonderful parents, she’s a lucky little girl.

      • Well she strayed from her vegetarian diet while she was pregnant and I suspect she will return to it again, but I don’t think DJ follows a vegetarian diet. She was singing the praises of the air fryer though so I thought of you immediately. 🙂 Yes, a perfect little family – I agree with you Diane.

  2. Thank you as have only used slow cooker for liquid stews and casseroles . So this will open up another set of meals for me. What one can learn is amazing if you keep ear to ground and eyes open

  3. Chicken is such a favourite in our kitchen (I have just taken some chicken from the refrigerator for a chicken & broccoli bake for tonight’s dinner). It’s amazing how just a few spices on chicken drumsticks kan deliver such a delicious meal!

    • Yes spices make chicken seem like a whole different recipe when you change them. I used lemon pepper on our pork for dinner today with fresh sweet corn for our veggie. I love sweet corn season. Yummy ❤️

  4. Yes, this tip I know. I do a pot of thighs every week to have on hand. Never add anything but a little salt & pepper. The “juice” in the pot after is a great start to chicken broth too.

  5. I made these today for my son and his family. They were a hit. The kids loved how tender they were and the adults liked the flavour. I will definitely make them again.
