Tortilla Chili Dogs

Hot dogs wrapped in a tortilla, covered with chili, topped with cheese and onion (optional) then baked in the oven. If you love Chili Dogs, you will love this simple recipe as a meal or an appetizer.

Pour half of the chili onto the

bottom of a 4-quart baking dish.

Place one hot dog on a tortilla and roll

it up. Small tortilla’s work best but all I

had was large ones and they still tasted

great. Repeat with the rest of the hot dogs.

Once rolled place them on top

of the chili, seam side down.

Pour the other half of chili on the

top making sure all of the

tortilla’s get covered.

Add the cheese to the top.

Cover and bake in a preheated

400º oven for 30 minutes.

Remove from the oven and check

out all that yummy cheese!

Serve whole immediately adding

some of the chili to each plate.

Or cut into small pieces, place a

toothpick in the top and serve

as an appetizer.

  1. Mmm, that looks yummy and very comforting! T is into hotdogs these days and this may be another way to introduce other ingredients such as chili into his palette. Thanks Diane!

  2. I’m sure these went over big with the grandkids – they would go over big with me. I haven’t had an A&W “loaded” coney for ages … the cheese dripping on top of the chili makes me hungry Diane.

      • I like chili dogs too and though I was getting the whole-grain buns as they were healthier, I found them to be too dry and too much bread – the white hot dog buns were better, but the tortilla is better yet. I’ve never been a fan of submarine sandwiches as I thought they were too much bun.
