As I kid I had a Polish friend who’s Mom made great stuffed cabbage that I thought she called “gwumpky”, maybe she was saying Golumpki and I heard it wrong. I’ll have to try the soup it looks good.
Oh thank is so funny. I hope you like it as much as hers!
Looks delicious 🙂
I’m Polish and made this for my kids since they were young. It’s so easy and delicious!
It sure is. Do they like cabbage rolls or the soup better?
Wow -that’s a first to hear about cabbage roll soup. Loved cabbage rolls when my mom made them – its been a while since I had cabbage rolls.
This soup basically is cabbage rolls that are cut up and made into soup. It’s funny because I’m not crazy about eating cabbage rolls but I love this soup!
It sounds good – my mom used to make them and simmer them in tomato sauce … she would make enough to freeze them for other meals since it was just the two of us.
You must have a large freezer! How nice when you can just thaw out a homemade meal!
Well that was back in the day – my mom would use half the freezer for stuff that she made for her/me and we had alot of leftovers. Then we’d heat up or microwave. Those were the days – my meals are pretty lame now!
If you like cabbage rolls you will like this recipe. Thanks so much!
Never heard of it, now I know, i love things cabbage.
I learned of the name from a craft festival at a Polish Church I attended.
Glad to know that, my daughter in law is from Warsaw, and she might like this.
I have made a version of this before and, you are right, so good…so easy! I serve it with sour cream! Comfort all the way!
Oh I like the sour cream idea! Thank you!!!
The soup looks really good! But I’m not a fan of cabbage so I’m going to have to pass this one… sorry Diane. But it still looks really good for people who are fans of cabbage! 😀
That’s OK I appreciate your honesty! I’m like that with green peppers so I totally get it.
