Kid Friendly Stovetop Salisbury Steak

If you want a quick and easy meal to prepare, this is it! This recipe uses regular hamburgers, fresh or frozen, and they cook on the stovetop in a delicious gravy. I would have loved to add mushrooms but nobody but me likes them. This is a nice change to a hamburger and is loved by adults and kids alike!

  1. Looks delicious, but I went back twice to see if you had really plated it with yellow “wax” beans. For at least a year I have been unable to find them in my local stores–in two different states. Frankly, I don’t think they taste different from regular canned green beans, but I like to put them in bean salad for visual contrast.

    • Oh yes, we love yellow beans and think they taste so much better than green beans do. When my grandkids are here we always send them downstairs to pick out a canned vegetable and they always come up with a can of yellow beans.

  2. This does look good – for years my mom had a gizmo like the George Foreman grill, only much smaller, I think by Presto. She cook the rest of the meal on the stovetop or else we would have a hamburger on a bun with it. She was devastated when it broke and wouldn’t close properly anymore. So we tried other types, but they didn’t come close.

    • Why do all those break at the handle where it closes? We have a quesadilla maker and a toasted sandwich maker that I have replace both twice for that same reason.

      • It was frustrating as we never found a similar one and the George Foreman was too big and messier to deal with than the Presto. I think it may be the latch that you push down to ensure it closes properly to cook wears out after a while.
