Thank you!
Pretty easy recipe
It sure is and they sure make a cookie tray look festive. Thank you Sheree 🌲
They sound easy enough. Yours look delicious.
Thank you Ruth!
I just saved this recipe. I think I’ll make some next week – a nice addition to our Christmas brunch. 🙂
They are so good Ruth, enjoy your brunch!
One of nonna’s specialty cookies with fig filling. You brought back a great memory. Merry Christmas, goddess!
Love figs and I have never made a fig filling. I love the name nonna, happy this brought back sweet memories of her JC. Merry Christmas 🌲
I remember the last time you posted this. We have a large jar of jam in our fridge that rarely gets used. This might be a good way to make the most of it! 😋
Great idea Ab!
We shouldn’t have a lot of sugar (lots less than is desired) right now, so this will make a nice treat. I love recipes with cream cheese in them too.
When I first made them I wasn’t sure they would be sweet enough for me and they were! Cream cheese is the best!
Love these!
Such an easy cookie to make.
Yes! I’ve actually made these! It’s been forever, but they were (I think) kolascz–our Hungarian version of the name.
Interesting I will have to google it Betsy, thanks!
Mom used to make these and my friend Ann Marie usually brings a plate of them over for Christmas (maybe not this year as they are getting ready to move/downsize from their apartment to an assisted living center due to her husband’s COPD and multiple hospitalizations each year).
Oh no you need to go to a bakery. How sad about Ann Marie and her husband. There are some nice assisted living places and that sure would make it easier on them both.
Yes, well I anticipated that and got some Walker’s Shortbread (the long ones – they used to come in round and long). I haven’t had those since 2008 (the last “normal” Christmas with my mom when she still baked and made Christmas cookies, but I encouraged her not to bake shortbread and got these instead). I think it will be easier for them both – she will miss making her “holiday treats and goodie runs” for sure.
Good things always have to end. 😔
