Did You Know – Wooden Spoon
Did you know that if you place a wooden spoon in a pot of boiling water, that it will help to keep the water from boiling over?
I have done this for decades and decided to Google why this works.
According to SouthernLiving.com, the reason is because the wood acts as a water repellant on the already unstable bubbles.
As a result, it causes the bubbles to destabilize and they stop rising, which stops the water from boiling over.

The first time I did it I forgot to take the wooden spoon out after stirring. I never knew it was something anyone did but it worked.
