My Daughter is an NP!

My daughter, Amy, has finished NP school with an A. She survived working in the Covid Unit at the hospital, a severe case of Covid, raising two kids and a full time job. It has been a tough journey but this lady will do anything she puts her mind to. We are so proud her and all of her accomplishments.

  1. Congratulations Diane, and a huge congratulations to your daughter!! She has certainly been through the toughest tests, and her determination to make it is a testament to just how valuable and needed she will be in the healthcare profession! I don’t even know her, and I am so proud of her! And by the way, I have tremendous respect for, and confidence in, Nurse Practitioners! I seek them out (in lieu of doctors) whenever I can, because they are super good at what they do, and they have a wonderful way with their patients! Bravo, Amy!! Well done!! Thank you for the service you provide!! <3 And congratulations to you, as well, Diane! You have much to be proud of!! <3 Thank you for sharing your wonderful news! 🙂

    • This is my favorite comment of all time. My daughter and I stayed in a cabin for three days to celebrate last week and it was my Mother’s Day gift. I got goosebumps when I read this at the cabin and read it to my daughter. You should have seen her face! Thank you Anita you a truly a wonderful person! 💕💕💕

      • Awwww….thank you so much for such a kind response, Diane! 😊 I have a very special place in my heart for people in the Healthcare professions , especially after all they have been through the past couple of years! ❤️And many years ago, when I was a Navy LT, I had the privilege of working closely with Nurses, in particular, when I helped commission the hospital ship Comfort. Nurses are a dedicated group of people who deserve our support and respect! I am so happy my congratulatory message to you and your daughter was so warmly received, and that you both had a great time at the cabin! I think you are a truly wonderful person, too, Diane!! ❤️❤️.

      • My hero, Clark Howard, talks about how physician’s assistants and nurse practitioners could really help our nation resolve some of our health care issues. He says it’s a career with lots and lots of opportunity. Plus, she will be helping people!

  2. 💜 I THINK!!! Mom Deserves Credit; that Daughter/Mother thing is TOUGH!!!

    …💛💚💙…

    • My daughter and I just spent 3 days in a cabin in the woods away from kids and husband, it was wonderful. That was my Mother’s Day gift. We are very close. Thank you Yernasia. ❤️

  3. Congrats Diane to your daughter. What an amazing accomplishment and through a challenging two years too. Congrats to the proud mom too. Enjoy celebrating this milestone!

    • Haha I asked her if she cared if I did a post and she said ok. Then I said I need a picture when she goes on break, she was working, so that is how that happened.

  4. Oh Diane – I saw this blog title as I scrolled down to find where I left off in Reader and had to stop and offer congrats to your daughter. Amy looks so much like you Diane. What a rough year, with her Covid scare and with her studies and all that and still passing with an A – I know those studies were rough from reading Mackenzie’s blog about her journey to become a NP. Did you make a special cake? You and Terry must be so proud!

    • No I didn’t make one, I cheated and bought one. I think I told you that the two of us went away together to a cabin in the woods. It was such a rewarding experience as we had never done that before. Terry watched the kids. Thank you Linda! 💕

      • Well you are certainly entitled to cheat for all the cooking and baking you do Diane. I am quite behind in Reader but in scrolling down (down, down, down) to get to where I left off, I saw your post and read it, but hav to return and look at your daughter’s pictures. I didn’t realize you had stayed over and thought you just had a day trip there – what a nice experience, just the two of you to cap off Amy’s graduation.

      • Yes it was a trip we will always remember. We are going to do a trip every year now. Then yesterday she passed her state board test! First try and the 3 hour test only took her a little over an hour. So proud of her.

      • That is really great Diane – something for both of you to look forward to every year. It sounds like Amy aced everything associated with becoming a NP – you deserve to be a proud mom!

  5. Oh my goodness!! Congratulations to her!! What an accomplishment!! I know I don’t know either of you but a standing ovation is warranted here! I work at a hospital ER full-time and health care is getting its butt whooped right now. So kudos to her for working through the chaos. Wishing nothing but blessings for her!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

  6. Yes good one her but NP? Medical Practicioner is what we English call a Doctor who advises. My niece is crash team Surgeon in London England but what is NP? Another none English word maybe related to Nural surgeon ????

    • A nurse practitioner is an advanced practice registered nurse and a type of mid-level practitioner. NPs are trained to assess patient needs, order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, diagnose disease, formulate and prescribe medications and treatment plans. Thank you Kevin. 💕

  7. Congrats!! What a fantastic accomplishment! We have two daughters-in-law in the medical profession. I don’t think I know two more dedicated and hard-working women. All the best to Amy in everything she does! You all should be very proud!

  8. What a wonderful achievement! Congratulations to your daughter, that’s sheer determination ⭐️. And yes, you can be the proudest parents in the world today!
