M & M Cookies
I came up with this M & M Cookie recipe many, many years ago. The cookies come out of the oven perfect every time. I bake them on parchment paper which keeps them from spreading out too thin. I like to use the red and green M & M’s because these cookies are part of my Christmas cookie tradition. There is nothing fancy about these cookies, they are just a delicious homemade M & M Cookie and a huge hit in our house.
Ingredients
Whisk together the dry
ingredients and set aside.
Mix the butter, shortening, sugars, vanilla and water.
Add the eggs one at a time mixing well after each egg.
Slowly mix in the dry ingredients until all combined.
Stir in by hand as many M & M’s as you would like.
Place a heaping tablespoon of cookie dough 2” apart on a
baking sheet covered with oven safe parchment paper.
Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 10-12 minutes
or until golden brown.

Wow Diane awesome recipe and yummy cookies
Thank you they are definitely one of our favorites! Have a great weekend!
Welcome u too have a great weekend
Diane these look delicious. I have to confess I’m not much of a scratch baker, actually scratch cook lol. However since retiring I have more time and I’m doing it more.
Once you start tasting how much better the food tastes you won’t want anything but your own homemade food! Thank you Miss Hammie and congrats on retirement!
So yummy it is 🙂
Who doesn’t like M & M’s right….hahahaha Thanks!
these look so festive and yummy.
Thanks!
“too thin” :-]
Nope they were made with an ice cream scoop. You can’t tell the size by the picture. It is just the way the picture makes them look. They are thick enough to stack that entire bunch…lol
My problem is being an English major about a century ago…I was just correcting your spelling – to thin vs too thin. :-]
Hahaha ok now I get it! It was just a typing error, I do that frequently!
my mum makes these every year as part of her Christmas cookie tins! they’re so festive, thanks for sharing the recipe 🙂
You’re welcome! We always buy a huge bag of M & M’s then set out the extra on Christmas for a candy dish.
Looks so yummy…M&M yeah!!!Everyone’s favorite!! Perfect for holidays.
Thanks definitely one of our favorites!
Those are super festive! 😀
Thanks!
Oh My Good Lord !!! I love M&Ms and I know I’m going to have to do these … but you know what though, the last recipe (oreo one) I tried to do of yours … well the ingredients still haven’t made it to ‘construction’ and I think we’ve tried 3 times hahaha 🙂
Was that the whoopie pies? Those are my favorite! They don’t last long!
I think so … We haven’t even got to making them yet, but the ingredients are good … and (confession) I am slightly partial do cookie dough type substances lol
Found it – It was the Easy Hershey Bar Pie … the chocolate bars have never made it into the ‘pie’ lol. I’m going to try again at Christmas time 😉
Oh yeah that was a good one!
🙂
Christmas themed M&M package? Christmas must be coming fast!
Too fast we just put up our tree yesterday!

Lol you’re welcome!
The cookies look very pretty with their Christmas colors.
Thank you!
I am loving them 😍😍
Thank you I have them out for Christmas right now.
A person can never go wrong with M&Ms!
I agree! ❤
Printing this one and doing it with the grandkids! Thank you Diane, you rock as usual. C
I always make sure not to use all the M & M’s as a bag really is a bit too much. Then they can eat the rest while the cookies bake (the best part). Thanks Cheryl!
Printed it. They are so festive! I will definitely get a bag that is too big.😉
Perfect and enjoy!
I love these cookies. My mother used to make them all the time. Thank you for the memories.
Isn’t it wonderful how food brings back so many memories? You are very welcome.❤️
