Slow Cooker Applesauce
Fall apples are everywhere right now. What better way to use them than by making applesauce. It doesnโt get any easier than making it in the slow cooker. Place everything in the slow cooker and it makes itself. I like my applesauce chunky but if you want it smoother, put it in the food processor, blender or use an immersion blender.

I froze a batch of apple butter that I cooked in the slow cooker but I froze that in the mason jars (without canning of course). I had heard you could do that and wanted to try it. It takes up more room but it worked perfetly.

That is an interesting way to use a slow cooker. Never thought of that! Have you thought about using your Ninja Foodie to make applesauce? I bet yours is better and healthier than the store bought ones!

The Ninja Foodi has a slow cooker built in so I could have, but this one I made a while ago and used my Ninja 3 in 1 cooker. That cooker has a stovetop, bake, slow cooker and warmer and is shaped differently. I love that Ninja too. It was the first one I bought. Yes it tastes so much better homemade. You can control the sugar and add whatever spices you want.

Yes I love making apple butter in it too! I was debating on the applesauce post or the apple butter post. My mother in law came over when I was making apple butter and told me they need an air freshener that smells like that! Lol Thank you Shelly ๐๐

Apple sauce was always a favorite, but over the years the commercial stuff got so watered down that I havenโt had it in years. But this looks great. Maybe time to check out apple butter again too.

I like my applesauce chunky too. My mom used to have a gizmo that looked like a vice and it peeled the apples and then cored them.

Ha ha – the people across the street had a huge apple tree in the backyard. They never sprayed it. The woman made applesauce from the wormy apples – she told my mom, but the time she used the apple peeler/corer and cut out the bad wormy spots, she didn’t have much apple left but made applesauce with it. She asked my mom if she wanted some … my mom told me there was really nothing left to make it worth her while. They had four kids and when the kids were grown, off on their own, she bought applesauce instead. I like applesauce and go through a large bottle (unsweetened) each week.

Strange thing Diane – I got a message on my post about the squirrels that looked like it came from you – Diane, but no profile picture and your blog site was spelled wrong (it had a “y” in it). Just sent it to you at your hot mail address to see. Unless you used a different browser – doesn’t make sense to me … hope someone is not trying to be you? I looked and there is no website by the name indianeskitchyen.com

Yes it was me. Having trouble since I updated my IPad. Then I typed wrong and hit enter before I realized it…lol Iโm so tired of these updates messing things up!

I hate updates too – I updated this old computer in my room I’m using now … it was purchased in 2009 but still runs perfectly, except I did a Windows update once and now can’t get into work … it did something so I use it for pictures and other stuff – still waiting on the Windows 10 and it is perfectly fine with me if he takes his time a little longer. ๐ I had a desktop Windows 98 computer crash years ago … I was doing a Service Pack Update and the computer just went beserk. I called Geek Squad as it crashed, I shut it off but it did not come back. They spent a couple of hours here at the house and could not revive it.

Any more they say computers go obsolete in like 4 years. So much money for only 4 years!

I agree and I’m not sure why they changed to Windows 10 from Windows 7 … the few times I’ve turned on the new laptop to do virus updates, I feel like I’m out of my element when I open it.
