Sugar Snap Peas & Bacon

When you make a meal do you open a can of vegetables for your side dish? Why not try a vegetable with amazing flavor that doesn’t come from a can? This recipe has the most amazing flavor and it is so simple to prepare. The Sugar Snap Peas are cooked with bacon drippings, green onion and garlic then topped with crumbled bacon for a fabulous taste!

Ingredients

In a medium skillet over medium heat

cook the bacon. Remove the bacon and

place it on a paper towel to drain. Leave

the bacon drippings in the skillet.

I cooked my bacon earlier

and saved the drippings.

Place the sugar snap peas in the

skillet then salt and pepper to

taste, cooking until warm.

Add the garlic and green onion,

stir and cook another minute.

Crumble the bacon and

sprinkle it on top then toss.

Place into a serving bowl. Garnish

with more green onion and serve.

 

Sugar Snap Peas & Bacon

Ingredients

  • 3 slices bacon
  • 10 – 14 oz. bag frozen sugar snap peas
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 1 green onion, sliced plus more for garnish

Directions

  1. In a medium skillet over medium heat cook the bacon. Remove the bacon to a paper towel leaving the drippings in the skillet.
  2. Place the sugar snap peas in the skillet then salt and pepper to taste. Cook a few minutes until warm.
  3. Add the garlic and green onion then cook another minute.
  4. Crumble the bacon and add it to the sugar snap peas.
  5. Place in a serving bowl and garnish with green onions (optional) then serve.

    • They are but we don’t have the greatest fresh vegetables in our stores. Living in the country and so far from the stores makes it hard too. Our closest farm market is an hour away. It’s nice that all three can be interchanged in the recipes. When we find good quality fresh veggies we grab them!
