I had no idea that this is how you make mayonnaise. It looks delicious!
Isn’t it simple? You won’t believe how fast and fun it is to make.
I always make my own because it’s the only way I know what’s gone into it.
Exactly and no preservatives! I was just told it is delicious to leave out the lemon juice and use the homemade pickles liquid instead for a great taste! Never thought of that and I have home canned dill pickles galore!
Thank you Diane for the mayo recipe!
You’re welcome Mel! This is one of those fun things to make. Reminds me of shaking cream to make butter, you shake and shake then in an instance it turns to butter. Same way with this only it’s the immersion blender.
If you substitute juice from the jar of your favourite home-made pickles instead of lemon juice, it tastes really wonderful. Mom use to do that all the time.
What a fabulous idea!!!! I have a couple cases of pickles in the basement!!! Thank you Sue I would never have thought of that.
I’m sorry…. you can’t make this stuff good lol!!
Oh no! You found a recipe you don’t like…lol I love Miracle Whip too but there are certain things that I have to have made with mayonnaise such as crab salad. Maybe if you put a cookie on top? 🤣😂🤣😂
You ruined a perfectly good cookie lol!!
Reminds me of a prank some guys at work pulled… they took donuts and put mayonnaise, ranch and mustard and filled them and one of the guys ate a mayonnaise donut… didn’t phase him.. 🤢
How awful that had to taste!!! Good prank though! LOL
Wow.. didn’t know…you teach mu/us quite a lot …I’ll share this with my mom…told you are so creative Diane…
Awww thank you Kelvin! Anything we buy at the store can be made at home. We just need to learn how. We are so use to buying things like this and they are simple and cheap to make. Have a nice weekend!
You too Diane.
My mom was telling me that growing up all they had was homemade mayonnaise! It seems so easy to make 🙂
It is very easy to make. Give it a try Kristen!
Wow looks tempting
So easy give it a try. 😃
Thanks for the homemade mayonnaise recipe – I will test it with the white asparagus menue. Greetings Maria
You’re welcome! Just had asparagus last night! Have a great weekend!
Hmmm good point.
You’re welcome and thanks!
You are so talented, I tried once and it didn’t come out so well hahaha.!
This is fool proof if your follow the directions exactly. It is ready in about 5 minutes from start (getting ingredients together) to finish. Thank you for your nice comment Julia!
I honestly never thought of making my own. This would save a lot of money, too.
Oh Michelle you have to try it! It is amazing how it turns to mayonnaise in a minute! The flavor is so good too. With no preservatives it won’t last like store bought does but ours is always gone before it has a chance to go bad anyway.
M surely gonna try this👍👍
You won’t believe how easy it is!!!
Well that is innovative – you have eggs and always have mayo to make egg salad.
Yes!!!! I love this and never run out because it can be made in a few minutes. Thanks!!!
Now this is much needed recipe. I never liked the one available in market. I am going to incorporate this into my cooking
It is so simple and cheap!
Yes, this is awesome
Hi, quite a quick and easy recipe to follow. Thank you for sharing. One question though – Have you tried using mustard oil? Do you think it will emulsify as beautifully ?
I have not and honestly don’t know. It would be worth trying because there is so few ingredients in the recipe that even if it doesn’t work you won’t be out much. I know one follower said her mom uses dill pickle juice instead of lemon juice so the mustard oil just may work too. If you give it a try please let me know if it works. I really think it will work.
Thank you for replying. Will keep you posted on how it went for me.
I had absolutely no idea this could be done!
Anything you buy processed in the store can be made at home.
It had been a dream of mine to make things at home ever since I read the Famous Five years ago!
When I first lived on my own at age 19, I learned to make everything I had time for. I really got into canning my own foods and even made baby food. It is so much fun to master those things. I have a huge food dehydrator and I love to dry my homegrown herbs, beef jerky and I even use it to make my own yogurt! I can see you being adventurous like that too!
That’s really great!! I would love to do it someday! And yes, I love being a bit creative and adventurous like that!
I’m not surprised at all!
