Welcome to my food blog.

My name is Diane and I am a wife, mother of two and grandmother of three wonderful grandchildren.

I have been cooking my entire life. Cooking and teaching others how to cook is my passion! I want to show you how easy it is to prepare and cook delicious food.

I also love gadgets, small appliances and cast iron.

I will show you how to make things you never even thought of making with easy step by step directions.

My hope is to give you cooking inspiration.

I welcome questions and comments.

Thank you for visiting my site.

    • Hi Diane! Thank you for the follow—you are my first! This is such an awesome way to connect with the world. Although I’m just starting with barely a foot out the door—it is nice to be in the company of others…
      Your recipes look so tasty!
      Cheers!

      • Diane, I’m 71 and have been disabled for many years. My activities are pretty much contained to writing and digital art. But, I am a whiz at “reheating” in the Microwave, lol. That’s why my helper does most of the actual cooking. As far as being a survivor goes, it takes a lot of energy, but is well worth the effort. No one knows that better. Thanks for the follow at 1sojournal, was happy to see there,

        Elizabeth

      • So sorry to hear that but very grateful for your helper! Being a self employed Independent Provider that works with developmental disabled adults, I totally understand how difficult it is! Take care and I will be checking out your wonderful blog!

    • Don’t know how you tracked down the ‘Lost and Found’ post, but glad you did. It got me busy writing a new post. Would love to hear your thoughts about all of it.

  1. Good morning, for some reason a comment you made on Nov. 18th (!) “Are you Goal Minded or Wandering Aimlessly?” never showed up on my notification page. I never discovered it until this morning when I was responding to another’s comment. I’m so sorry, I ALWAYS reply to a comment and pray you didn’t think I didn’t care. Thank you so much and for checking out the Redwoods. I appreciate you, <3 (If it happens again, there must be a glitch and please let me know – hope it hasn't happened other times.) Blessings back,

  2. thank you so much for the follow, i followed you back 🙂 also on Twitter 🙂

great blog! thank you for this. i’ve been trying to learn how to cook and make stuff like cupcakes and that. this is gonna be helpful 🙂

  3. First of all, thanks for your time to visit my blog and follow. After that,no matter if as a dancer I m a terrible eater, your blog made me want to try some of your lovely presented recipes! Keep up with your lovely work.Best regards,Rodo.

  4. I can use all the inspiration I can get regarding cooking. I, too, am a mom and grandmother – 4 kids and 7 grands. I feel like I’ve done it all and just recently have gotten convicted that I need to spend time planning and reading about cooking again.

  5. Enjoyed looking around your blog. Like the way you present the different foods and delicacies. Since English is not my native language, when I do look for a recipe, it’s usually in my own language. I used to like very much to cook and bake, but I’ve gotten lazy about such things, and often just prepare things I know without the use of a recipe at all. Fortunately, I have friends who provide additional color to my diet… though I think my enthusiasm for food has grown weak. What I still love as much as ever is bread. I make an old fashioned rye bread about twice a week, and make them small so they won’t last too long because I like bread fresh.

  6. Hi Diane,

Thanks for following howdysunshine.com! I look forward to perusing your recipes, they look fantastic. Strawberry, heck yeah! Cheers.

  7. Hi, Diane! I’ve nominated you for the 3 days, 3 quotes challenge, if you’d like to take it on. If not, no problem. First time on this challenge for me. Have a great day!

  8. Hi Diane, thanks for visiting Sound Bite Fiction.
I am sorry to say that all the marvellous stuff here is somewhat wasted on this ancient scribe, but I wish you all the best nevertheless.
    Bon appetit!

  9. Thanks for the follow! I enjoy cooking almost as much as I enjoy eating new dishes. Your posts look delicious so I will follow so I can try some of your recipes. Your blog is like having another cookbook!

  10. Thank you for coming by and following my blog. I have cooked most of my life for a large family now that I am almost 80 I have tired of cooking.and do as little as possible. I do love delicious food and all of your recipes seem easy and look yummy. I am going to follow your blog and maybe I will get inspired to cook again. 🙂

    • You are so welcome! I look forward to seeing more of your blog! It sounds like you are quite the chef! I hope I can inspire you to make even a few recipes. What a good excuse to invite somebody over for dinner! I hope you had a Merry Christmas!

      • I did have a Merry Christmas…some of my adult children came and brought food…I made dressing and we had a very nice day. If you keep posting those easy to make delicious looking foods I feel I most likely will be cooking some. 🙂

    • I had somebody ask me about using cast iron on a glass top. I do not have a glass top but from what I have read, as long as you don’t slide them it’s ok. My pans are pretty smooth on the bottom so I wouldn’tn think they would scratch. I, too, love cooking in cast iron. Thank you so much Linda!

  11. Hi Diane. Congratulations on your fantastic and very succesful blog! You’ve created an amazing platform to share and give cooking inspiration. Wishing you showers of more and more inspiration as you gradually become a well-deserved household name!

    • You’re welcome! You are going to have so much fun and meet so many wonderful bloggers you will never want to quit. I am looking forward to reading more of your blog! Good luck! 💕

  12. Diane! Thank you so much for coming by my blog! When I came back to WP I remembered you but couldn’t find your blog. You always posted the most delicious recipes! So happy to see you again. 🙂 <3

  13. Thanks for the follow! I’m always looking for keto-carnivore recipes, egg dishes, etc. I see several that will work. So will follow along and try some! Looks great!

  14. Thanks for the follow. I’m enjoying your website. Great pics. I love cooking and finding new recipes. Can’t wait to try some of yours.

  15. Thank you. Making a pot roast is easy. I love carrots, onion, potatoes, and all the other ingredients but I haven’t cooked the meal in quite a while. The strawberry cake looks very good. Please come back to my blog more often. Take care now.

  16. Thanks for the follow! This all looks great. Two questions if you don’t mind:
    1) how did you come upon my blog? The only reason I ask is that I can probably count my followers on one hand right now! I’m very new to this; it looks like you have a large number of followers yourself and I just want to figure out how it all works.
    2) My wife and I both work, and we have two young girls under 3 years old. We’d love to do dinner as a family but dinnertime is such a moving target; do you have any posts for recipes with short cook times to help with this scenario? I don’t mind doing prep work in the morning or even the evening before, if necessary, but I’d love to have something that we could get on the plate in under 30 minutes for impatient toddlers. Thanks for your work!

    • I saw your blog on the feed under search. I click on search and scroll through and look at blogs that I think are interesting. I love your honesty about family. I have raised 2 kids and have 2 grandkids with us almost half the month so I can relate. As for meals I would suggest checking out my slow cooker recipes. I have quite a few listed. Not only is meat super tender and delicious cooked in a slow cooker but all the hard work is done. Get home and dish it out or add a side dish. Under my categories click on slow cooker and check out my recipes. Here is an example of one of them. http://indianeskitchen.com/2018/03/14/slow-cooker-salisbury-steak

  17. Hello there Diane.

I am not quite sure how I landed upon your site, I think it was about three steps removed from Sam’s “meet and greet” page but I am not sure. My three great delights in life are travelling, cooking and music in no particular order, it rather depends what I am doing at the time. I will sit and read recipes all day and it looks like it will take me all day to go through your very extensive site which looks brilliant.

    Keep up the good work.

  18. Thanks for the follow on Bike Walk Drive. I look forward to exploring your blog. Just scanning through the photos makes me hungry and want to cook or bake!

  19. Hi Diane, not sure if I have replied to your about section before so please excuse me if i have. Just in the library catching up on saved e mails etc. Thank you for you a like a while ago on saskia’s blog. Nice to meet you here and I look forward to sharing posts and working on your yumee recipes.

  20. Hi Diane, nice to meet you! Thanks for the follow too. I’ve just started getting back to blogging after a bit of a hiatus. I hope to see more of your posts in my feed. I’m going to take a look around. Thanks again 🙂

  21. Hi Diane
Thanks for the follow at my blog The True Alchemist. So sorry, but I really am not interested in cooking and consider it a necessary evil. I try to spend as little time as possible doing the chore and make it a point never to learn new dishes so I won’t be asked to cook them, lol. Thanks for the follow, again and much love.

  22. Thank you so much for the follow, I know I’m kinda lagging behind with visiting, but I made it! May your 2020 be filled with deliciousness of all kinds

  23. Hi, Diane—

I just stopped by to thank you for joining me at annieasksyou. I hope you’ll visit when you have time and comment as you see fit,

I am currently trying to figure out why so many foods disagree with me (dairy, fats, etc), so your wonderful recipes would for the most part appeal to my eyes but be rejected by my gut. Nevertheless, I congratulate you on your fine and clearly successful blog. And I’m happy to welcome you to mine.
    Cheers,
    Annie
