My 11 year old grandson has been bugging me to make him banana bread. I explained you need really ripe bananas and bananas never last that long in grandma’s house. He said OK, when can you make it? Well here it is! 🤣
He is able to dish out the pranks too Ab! This is the same boy that loves cow heart! When my daughter was young she wouldn’t try things if I told her what it was. My daughter warned both my grandkids beware of grandmas cooking. 🤣 I told my kids you don’t have to eat your dinner if you don’t like it, however, it will go into the refrigerator and if you get hungry later you can’t have anything else until it’s gone. They were allowed to throw it out the next day, I’m not that mean. lol I made roast, carrots and potatoes and my daughter looked at it for so long she fell asleep on her plate. 😂 My son loves different food as I do, he cooks different food all the time and he tried everything I made. He had us over for some walleye he caught. He served the fish and asked me if I wanted some of the cheeks, they were delicious!
That’s too funny about your daughter falling asleep at the table! 🤣 Roast sounds delicious to me so it’s not you! I can see your son picked up your adventure for food! 😊

She fell asleep on the plate of food. 😂 My son definitely picked up my adventure with food. He invited us over for supper and is making smoked chicken. I always enjoy seeing what he makes next.

Ha ha – well you made it for him and I hope your grandson LOL at that!
I have joked with him since he was very young. He started giving it back soon after. One day he was joking around with me and his mom looked at him and said don’t you talk to grandma like that. I cracked up and told her it is how we have fun.
That’s funny – he appreciated your banana bread joke then. 🙂

Not really, the boy loves to eat! 🤣

You have no idea how much!

As long as he’s not into sports, because then you are really in trouble! 🙂

He said today he’s going to need rides starting next week for basketball. Looks like I am going to have to make some treats. Lol

Hopefully he doesn’t want treats for the whole team!

Those days are done! Lol

Well thank goodness for that. My boss before Robb had triplet girls and a boy one year older. They were all teenagers when I began working for him. The girls were involved in Girl Scouts and Ed’s wife was a troop leader or regional leader maybe was her title. But all three girls were involved in school sports, but all different sports. I mean, why couldn’t they all be involved in the same sport? The boy played high school hockey and their ice time was at some ungodly hour like 6:00 a.m. every school day. Ed said he and his wife Chris felt like they did nothing but schlepp the kids around from activity to activity. Then the boy moved out, got a job and the girls all left for college in Chicago. Ed said he missed all the activity with just the two of them and being empty nesters.

I was glad our kids were 9 year age difference. Running one at a time was enough. Then my son’s last year in football they were state champions and the games went into December. It was so cold and rained a lot. He ended up getting all-state lineman, makes a mama proud!

Yes, good thing as you would have been running ragged keeping up with them. That’s great – did any colleges try to recruit them?
Loading...
Yes but he wanted to stay closer to home and really had no interest in playing. He had his mind set on a degree, not sports, shocker I know! It was funny because one of the professors owned a company that did pavement and hired him right from graduation. Now he is with a company where he is a regional safety coordinator and flies or visits 18 sites.

That was a smart move on your son’s part – you have to think of the future. These young guys playing football … it’s such a rough sport. I don’t watch sports, only because I don’t know anything about the games, however, on social media, when names are trending of players who were concussed after bouncing off their head, I’ve seen the videos, just not good and then your career and health is shot forever. Your son was lucky to have a degree under his belt and make connections to be successful.

He did get hurt, tore a ligament on his thumb. This happened one game before the championship game. He refused to go to the doctor until the last game was over. Once they were the champs, he had surgery. That may be what influenced him not to continue. Lol
Loading...
Oh wow – that was stoic of him, but yes, he wanted to play in the championship game. I hope he recovered fully from the injury/surgery, as much typing as anyone does nowadays on a keyboard, phone, etc., for a job or otherwise.

Yes he recovered fine until he was in his 30’s and played flag football with his buddies and tore a ligament in his knee. The doctor said no more football. Lol

The doctor said “oh no – you again!” Good idea not to be tearing ligaments in your knee or your hand … your son needs to stick to a tamer sport. 🙂

His sport is called 2 young boys and a dog over 100 pounds! All three are daddy boys!
Loading...
Ha ha – you have to be like mom when you were raising him and shake your finger at him and say “no more sports!”
Loading...
He’s 6’4”, I would need a ladder. 🤣

Ha ha – really, that’s a big guy, yes for sure you would!

I hope your grandson has a sense of humor. Add some peanut butter and this would be quite tasty. Thanks for a good laugh today!
We have teased each other for fun since he was probably 5 years old. He just rolled his eyes, said “Oh Grandma” and walked away. He can dish it out quite well!
He rolled his eyes, said “Oh Grandma!” and walked away. Haha We have joked back and forth since he was probably 5 years old. He can dish it out and take it.
🙂
Thank you Derrick!
LOL, love that story. Been ages since I’ve made banana bread. 🙂
Thank you Paul!
Another memory Goddess. And another great idea. I’ll bet he loved it!
Only if rolling his eyes at me and walking away means he did. 🤣
Thanks Ned!
😂🤣
He’s used to it we always tease and fool each other for fun.
My wife and I are the same
hilarious!
Thanks Beth!
Too funny!
He rolled his eyes at me, imagine that! 🤣
;>)
Thank you Mitch!
Oh, so good!
Thanks!
Was your grandson annoyed? haha
No, we joke with each other all the time. He rolled his eyes and walked away. Lol
This made me laugh out loud. Good prank and fairly accurate response to the request!

You’re so sweet, thank you Tierney❣️
hahah –
I didn’t get laughter from him. Lol
I’d add some peanut butter! My fav!
I agree! He wasn’t too amused after pulling a joke on him. 😂
It’s certainly easier than baking a loaf!
It sure is but you know I will break down eventually. Lol
