Italian Skillet Chicken Breast Recipe

A skillet on a wooden surface with three pieces of chicken cooking in oil, surrounded by a cozy setting with decorative elements and herbs.

Italian Chicken is made with boneless, skinless chicken breasts and Zesty Italian Dressing for added flavor and is ready to eat in about 10 minutes.

Pound or cut the chicken breasts so they are an equal thickness. Add about 3 Tbsp of olive oil to a heavy bottom skillet and turn to medium heat then add the chicken.

Sauté on one side, with a lid, for 6-7 minutes or until the bottoms are getting brown.

Remove the lid and add the Zesty Italian salad dressing then turn the chicken over so both sides are coated. Cook an additional 2-3 minutes or until the thickest parts are 165 degrees. While sautéing, use a spoon to drizzle the salad dressing on top of the chicken.

  1. This sounds and looks delicious and a great and simple use of Italian dressing, Diane! Your photo of your finished meal looks great too. Nicely framed with the lights! 😊

      • They sure do and the Terry loves zesty Italian dressing so I used it for him since I was still eating drumsticks. The grandkids stopped over and enjoyed them too.

      • It sounds delicious. In between watching for ants yesterday, I made a crockpot meal – keeping my eye on the ceiling and countertop and everywhere I put anything to eat or drink.

      • They are and I am sitting at my old computer sorting pictures all day and still don’t have my Comcast e-mail password – I intended to go do that tonight, but I still am not finished with pictures but needed a break so came over here. I had pictures I took from early May – a six-mile walk, then Heritage Park, then Mother’s Day at Lake Erie Metropark … why do I take so many pictures? Anyway, I had to take pictures of the paintings as well and send them to the assignment link which I just did … no more assignments as the class is now done but I have more painting things coming up, just no assignments. So I am sitting in the kitchen at the table I use for painting and the new computer covered up as I they fall down … the bathroom has lots and my bedroom still and I hope it warms up and maybe they’ll stop.

      • Did you get the email with the video link I sent? Since Jet Pack eliminated my 360 which also eliminated my emails, contacts etc I don’t get anything. It seems we pay for everything now and it’s bad enough I have to pay for the business plan since I ran out of storage. Now they want more money for iCloud which I refuse. If I didn’t love having my website I would give it up!

      • I have heard two other bloggers in the last few weeks say they were charged for business plan as you can no longer buy add-on space for your blog like before. For one of them, it was she was taking lots of pics from her phone and not resizing them. The other person just had a lot of photos and wanted to get more space and they said no. I hope you don’t have to change your blog format as the one blogger did when she upgraded to business plan.

      • I had no idea they offered extra add-on features. When I ran out of room I went right to the business plan so I won’t have any issues for once.

      • I thought they had a deal awhile back where you could buy extra space, maybe 50GB without going to a business plan. I just looked and I have only used 1.4 GB of my 13 GB storage on the Premium Plan. You’d think it would be more considering how many photos I have in my long posts. I hope I don’t have to go to a business plan eventually as I’ll have to redo my theme … any day now they’ll contact me and tell me Theme Twenty-Ten will be phased out. 🙂

      • I know my cloud storage holds 50GB for .99 a month. I can’t remember what the storage was before the business plan with WP. My theme didn’t change when I went on the business plan.

      • That’s a lot of storage Diane. Well that’s interesting … maybe that is a 2025 plan that makes it so as I know Esther said she couldn’t take her theme with her to the upgrade. I hope I don’t have to upgrade any time soon. I try to do no more than 25 pictures in the long post, which is probably 10 pictures too many. 🙂

      • That’s good – you’re lucky. I know one day they’ll force me to change it since the theme (Twenty Ten) was already popular when I started blogging in 2013. I used to see and still do (if I go to their site for some reason) people using the same theme – probably for the same reason as me – it was fairly easy to set up.

  2. I will do this with thighs I jus defrosted with some store bought beans(mine are planted) and fresh lettuce and beet greens from my NH garden yes I pushed the envelope a bit 🙂 Happy Memorial Day

    • Haha I actually thought that when I posted it. Whenever I make a super easy recipe I think of you. After all, your kids will be away at college someday and you have to do it all yourself. Lol I hope you are getting better.
