Interesting facts – Thanks for sharing 👍🏼
Thank you Randy!
I heard they are vegan. A fun post.
Thanks Ruth!
Nice 👌
Thank you!
Welcome 🙏
Goodness
Right!
wow!
It gives new meaning to the phrase, “I love you to the moon and back!”. 🤣
)))
Wow, never knew all that about Oreos!
There was so much more but I try to keep my Did You Know facts to just ten. Thank you Paul!
Thank you!
Wow! I didn’t have a clue! Thank you for sharing, Diane. I’m craving an Oreo now! 🩵
You’re welcome Karla!
That’s a lot of Oreos!
If only we had created them Dorothy! 💰
Enjoyed the background! Pork fat – oh my! Guess they couldn’t keep that up long term!
But aren’t you curious about what it tasted like? I know I use Crisco grease for my cake decorating frosting but that doesn’t have a flavor. I can’t image pork fat flavor in Oreo frosting but I would definitely try one just to see what it tasted like. I’ll try anything once. 🤣
My grandmother would make lard frosting when I was a kid, complete with loads of food coloring and I loved that toxic concoction lol.
Now I really want to try it! Lol
Interesting and fun facts Dianne, I love Oreos, I pull them apart to eat them
Thank you Susan I do the same, you have to eat the frosting center first! Lol
Wow! Interesting facts – even though I don’t care at all for Oreos. Apparently, I’m in the minority.
Well you are the first person I know that doesn’t like Oreos. 🤣 Thank you Linda!
Interesting! Are you an Oreo fan?
I will eat them if they are around but I don’t buy store bought cookies, I love homemade. Thank you Kevin.
I love Oreos, but it has been a long time since I had one. I was a twister and licker; it made it last longer. Biscochitos, the Mexican cookie especially popular at Christmas, MUST be made with lard. I tried to make them with some kind of oil to be healthier (which depending on the oil probably isn’t healthier), and they were not good at all. It’s interesting that Oreos were originally called biscuits. In the books I read set in Great Britain, all of the cookies are called biscuits. I didn’t know we ever did that in the U.S.
I would love to try the Biscochitos! I use shortening for my favorite frosting recipe so I bet lard is just as good (or bad for us). Lol
An oreo and a cold glass of milk are one of life’s little treasured moments.
That’s so funny Bernadette! I forgot how the grandkids used to dunk their cookies and what the bottom of the glass looked like when they were finished. The milk was so nasty looking and they never drank it, only dunked. Lol
The US has a lot of very interesting Oreo flavours. The hubby’s colleague, based in the US, always brings back unique Oreo flavours. When I was in Manila recently, I saw strawberry filling Oreos. No pork fat ones though. 😆
I have tried a couple different holiday flavored fillings but never strawberry. There is nothing like the original white filling. Did you like the strawberry filling, it sounds good.
I didn’t try it. Only saw it. 😆
Those are amazing stats Diane – did you think Oreos were the world’s #1 selling cookie? I would have thought chocolate chip (like Chips Ahoy as opposed to homemade). I have to agree and the regular, original Oreos are the best … not the Double Stuf as they are too sweet and I’ll pass on the pork fat filled “original-original” Oreos.
Oreo Cookies are pretty well loved in our family. I don’t buy them, homemade is so much better. However, I am with you, I don’t like any flavored, double stuffed etc, just the original.
Yes, perfect treat and in my younger days, I’d have a glass of milk and finish off a “strip” (section of the package) with no problems.
That’s my problem with any cookie, they are hard to stop eating!!!
Oh ya – I can attest to that!
Who would have thought such interesting facts exist on Orea cookies!
I thought so too Mary. My mother in law knitted an afghan and it had an oreo cookie on every square. It was so cute.
Lemon meringue flavoured Oreo? I would have loved it! Guess what? There’s a small packet of Oreo cookies in our candy bowl … along with a cup of tea, it’s going to be a great snack now! Oh yes, and I definitely twist my Oreo cookies!
Haha I love that you buy small packs, great portion control and great for a sweet craving! I would love to try the lemon meringue too.
Just reading this post. Interesting facts about Oreos. Oreos are my my favorite cookies!!!
So do you eat them whole or separate them and eat the filling first? lol
I eat them both ways. 😀
I don’t think there is a bad way to eat them!
I agree!
