Air Fryer Tater Tots

Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and golden brown. I will never cook Tater Tots any other way after tasting these. I cooked these from frozen to delicious!

Spray the basket with cooking oil. Close the lid and preheat the air fryer at 390º for 5 minutes.

Add the frozen tater tots, I used half a bag.

Spray them liberally with cooking oil then salt and pepper to taste.

If using mini tater tots, cook for 10 minutes. Toss gently and cook 2 minutes more or until golden brown.

If using regular size tater tots, cook for 10 minutes. Toss and cook 6 minutes more or until golden brown. Watch them carefully, as all air fryers cook differently, serve immediately.

  1. That’s interesting, Diane! I remember something with this shape made out of corn? Tater tots are made out of potatoes, right? 😉 Definitely much more healthier. Thanks for sharing another great idea. Best wishes, Michael

  2. This is the first time I’ve heard of such a fryer without oil. I have to search on the internet. The fries look delicious.

    • They are amazing Ultra, so much healthier. I make chicken wings, french fries, steak, lobster, bacon, sausage and so on. Just about anything can be made in it. Thank you❤️

  3. I love these air fryer recipes! I got an air fryer for Christmas. Instructions like these are just what I need. We even bring the air fryer along on our travel trailer travels. Thank you!

  4. You could make an air fryer cookbook. 🙂 I love Tater Tots and dipping them into over-easy eggs. Been a long time since I had either or those treats.

      • Now you have to try that sometimes. When I was growing up, my father wanted a “farmer’s breakfast every Sunday” so we always had home fries. After he was gone, my mom said “I’m not going through all the mess again!” So we had Canadian bacon in the microwave and Tater Tots in the oven – easy peasy and no clean-up.

      • I was easier to please. 🙂 At least you get out of doing dishes for a while, or do you have a dishwasher? Hope you get a break on Mother’s Day Diane!

      • We have a dishwasher but we still wash a lot of the dishes. I’m not cooking on Mother’s Day! I requested seafood enchiladas for dinner.

      • If you have big pots or hard-to-scrape food off pots, they might not fit in the dishwasher, right? Well that sounds like a perfect dinner – who is cooking for you?
