With the price of pizza sky rocking, why not make this simple French Bread Pizza? The best part is that each person, even the kids, can make their own pizza exactly how they like it.

Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread cut in half lengthwise
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick), softened
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder, or to taste
- 1-2 cups pizza sauce, or to taste
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, or to taste
- toppings of your choice (cooked meats, veggies etc)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Spread the butter over both cut sides of the bread then sprinkle with garlic powder.
- Cover a baking sheet with foil and place the bread on the foil, cut side up. Bake for approximately 5 minutes or until the top is lightly toasted.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and add pizza sauce to the top of the bread. Don’t put too much sauce on or it will be soggy and don’t let the sauce get too close to the edges.
- Add cheese and then your favorite toppings.
- Bake for 8-14 minutes or until hot and the cheese is melted, serve immediately.

Thank you for sharing❤️
I also remember as a kid making pizza on English muffins. Not the greatest crust but as a kid it was real neat!
Wow, I have never heard of using English muffins, very clever!
We’ve done this, but not for a while! Thanks for the reminder!
Isn’t funny how we try to make so many new recipes for our blogs then we forget about the ones we used to make? Lol
Yes, and they are often recipes that make us happy!
I went to blog about 3 recipes I made this weekend and I already blogged about them! lol
🤣
This is a good way to use day-old bread. And, it’s so easy!
Yes any bread can be used. Thank you!❤️
Ha! True.
Yum! Pizza bread!
Thank you! ❤️
I love Pizza! This is a great and affordable alternative. Great recipe, sounds quick and easy to prepare as well.
Thank you Paul it is very quick, easy and delicious. ❤️
Yum! I am very hungry now! (catching up on your blog can cause that…)
Hahaha you’re so sweet!
What a great idea Diane! Mine will probably end up with LOTS of cheese 😉 … I think we will skip the “buy a pizza once a month” and try this “make a pizza once a week”!!
Thank you! These are so easy and cheap to make, enjoy.
Aren’t these so easy and delicious! 🙂

Yes and the grandkids and hubby love them!
I made pizza on French bread last week. It was delicious.
It makes for the easiest and most delicious dinner doesn’t it!
Yes ma’am. We like the little garlic bread made in to pizzas too.
Delicious. Those peppers make all the difference.
My husband loves them and my grandson asked to try them, however, he hasn’t asked for them again. Lol
Looks like a wonderful activity to do with the kids and grandkids! And yes, food and groceries are getting just so ridiculously overpriced!
Thank you! I don’t know who loved it more, the grandkids or my hubby! 😂
Both are sub sets of kids! 😆
Ah, this brought back memories. French bread pizza was a favorite after school snack in our home for years.
This is one thing my mom never made when I was growing up. My husband actually introduced this to me in the form of a frozen store bought meal. Lol
We used to have the Stouffers French Bread Pizza – it’s been years as I don’t use the oven. This looks delicious – pizza is the only thing I really crave.
Terry buys Stouffers for when I am not home or not cooking. He actually had it tonight! I wanted steak and he doesn’t like steak.
We used to have it but it doesn’t fit in the toaster oven. 🙂 And I never made that crockpot pizza …. 🙂
You were so excited to try it too!
Oh yes!! 🙂
Diane, I made your Easy Chicken Tortilla Soup on Wednesday and we enjoyed it for lunch three days. Very good! I’ll be making it again soon.
Thank you so much for telling me Janet. I’m so glad you liked it.❤️
What a fabulous idea! I never would have thought of it.
So easy and delicious, Thank you! 💕
