Slow Cooker Ham & Potato Soup

This hearty Slow Cooker Ham & Potato Soup is full of potatoes, carrots, celery and onions and cooked in chicken broth with cream. What a wonderful flavor after cooking all day in the Slow Cooker!

Add the potatoes, carrots, onion, celery
and ham to a large slow cooker.

Add the salt and pepper then toss.

Add the chicken broth, I use Better
Than Bouillon for more flavor.

Slow cook on low for 8-9 hours or on
high for 4-5 hours. I stirred mine
halfway through cooking.

When the vegetables are all tender,
remove about half of the potatoes
and blend them, I used my immersion
blender, but you can use whatever
you have handy.

Stir in the blended potatoes.

Add the flour and the cream then
stir. Cover and cook another
15 minutes on high.

Then serve.

What a great idea Tammy!
Ahaha! Yeah!
This looks really inviting, especially on a cold winter day!
There is nothing better than soup when itβs cold, thank you Dorothy!
Fabulous! Absolutely perfect for this time of year! Hope all is well with you Diane. πC

We are expecting some weather here in the Carolinas this weekend. This would be perfect for dinner. Maybe a mug of hot Ovaltine later.
I hear it goes great with wine! Thank you π
Looks delicious
Thank you so much June! β€οΈ
Looks so good! I donβt use ham much as an ingredient but this convinced me to try it specifically for this soup!
You wonβt be sorry, it tasted amazing. Thank you and let me know how you like it.
I would love this..l and so easy!
It is easy and the best I have ever tasted. The ham makes it so good. Thank you Nancy.β€οΈ
I love ham and potato soup, yet have never made it. This looks so easy. I have my crockpot with me and if I can find all the ingredients, I will give this a try. Although I don’t have my immersion blender with me.
Do you have a mixer? Just try and mash them any way you can. It will still taste great but the consistency is so much better if blended. I even used my immersion blender in the crock pot after I did the potatoes because I still wanted it not so chunky. My husband wanted no potato chunks but I had to have some.
Okay, I will try that. I like chunks, but not huge ones either. Good tip, thanks.
A warming soup on a cold day–looks delicious!
Most definitely, thank youβ€οΈ

We were just going through soup recipes yesterday! This one looks delicious and I love that itβs a slow cooker recipe!
Thank you it was so delicious.
What is there not to love in this soup? Definitely going to save this recipe for winter – thanks Diane!
Youβre welcome β€οΈ
I just made a pot of potato leek soup. Next time I will change it up and use your recipe.
Awesome enjoy!
We’re starting a major remodel on Monday. Our kitchen will be gutted as part of that project, so I am setting up a kitchen for us in one of our empty bedrooms. I have my crock-pot there, of course, and I WILL be making this soup. Love your recipes, Diane!
How exciting Patty! I have never remolded inside the house but I am saving up for the kitchen. I hope you like the soup as much as I did. Thank you for your kind words. β€οΈ
The work started yesterday. Whoo boy!! π But the end result will be worth it. Your soup is on my meal list!
I donβt like having to deal with workers in the house, I hate the mess! But I canβt wait to have my kitchen done. Post pictures when they are done I need some inspiration. Lol Enjoy the soup and let me know how you like it.
Of course that all looks delicious, but I’m most taken by the bowl you’ve presented it in. You so have to do a clam chowder in that bowl. It would be perfect! π
Hahaha It will be perfect! Thank you β€οΈ

That looks delicious Diane and look at the bounty of colorful veggies you put into it. I had no idea it would take that long in the slow cooker.
Thank you Linda! Vegetables take a while to cook in the slow cooker but the taste that comes from slow cooking is my favorite! What would I do without all my gadgets? Lol
Yes, you are the original gadget girl Diane. Do you have a pizza maker too? I remember Mackenzie making pizza on a gizmo that turns around to heat it up. It looked easy.
I heard that really works but I love making them in my cast iron pans.
When I first got the crockpot I was bound and determined to make pizza in the crockpot, but I think it would be way too gummy so I abandoned that idea.
Yes not sure I would like to try that either.
Thinking it might be soggy and soft.
I love soup all year round, not just in the cooler months like some. I will have to make thisβ¦it looks too good not to. And so easy!
I thought I was the only one that can eat soup all year round! Thank you KT!
My pleasureβ¦literally. A lot of your recipes have become some of my favorite meals. π
Awe you are so sweet, thank you!
