Andes Creme De Menthe Chocolate Cookies

These cookies are not just delicious, but they leave your mouth minty and refreshed. I can’t think of a better reason to eat cookies, can you?

In a large bowl add the brown sugar,
shortening, water and vanilla extract.

Stir until combined and creamy.

Add the eggs and stir until
combined thoroughly.

In a small bowl whisk together the
flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.

Add the flour mixture to the
dough and stir to combine.

Add the entire bag of Andes
Creme De Menthe baking chips.

Toss, coating all of the
baking chips with dough.

Place rounded tablespoons of dough
on an ungreased cookie sheet 2” apart.

Bake in a preheated 375º oven one
pan at a time, on the center rack,
for approximately 9-13 minutes,
my oven took 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and leave the
cookies on the pan for 1 minute until
set then remove to a cooling rack.

Store in an airtight container.

Thank you Michael, these turned out so amazing.
:-)) Yummy!
All for me? LOl Thank you very much again, Diane! I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Enjoy the companionship with yours, and all the cookie monsters. 😉 xx Michael
Thank you so much Michael but unfortunately four of my family members have been hit with Covid, even the cookie monsters, so I canceled our Christmas get together. You and your family have a Merry Christmas and be safe. ❤️
Thank you! Gosh, what a sad situation. I wish them a fast recovery, and you anyway, as far as possible a Merry Christmas, Diane! xx Michael
Thank you it was a nice relaxing Christmas.
Great to hear that, Diane! Keep on with it! It pays out! 🙂 xx Michael
I made some chocolate mint cookies yesterday too. ‘Tis the season. Merry Christmas.
Thank you and Merry Christmas to you too!
Thank you. 🙂
Thank you so much and Merry Christmas.
These look amazing. I didn’t even know Andes Creme de Menthe chips were a thing
Merry Christmas, Diane!
Thank you! I didn’t know they did either. I never go grocery shopping because my husband loves it and I hate it. However, I wasn’t sure what candy I wanted for my melted snowmen so I went along this one time. That’s when I saw them and thought, chocolate cookies and mint! Merry Christmas ❤️
How awesome, wonderful, and thanks for sharing
Thank you and you’re welcome. ❤️
I love the combination of chocolate and mint. These sound like delicious cookies.
They turned out so delicious. It was my first try at the recipe and I am so happy it worked. They taste just like the Andes candy. Thank you ❤️
Do you even realize that you may have invented chocolate flavored mouthwash!
😂🤣😂 Yes but my kind you can swallow!
I bet these are loaded with flavor!
OMG you better believe it. What’s funny is I don’t like mint, ever, except for the Andes candy. These cookies taste just like the candy. Thank you Dorothy!
These look delicious. The Crème de Menthe sounds like a wonderful flavour enhancement!
Thank you Ab!
Cholokate and menthe cookies they will disappear from the plate very quickly. Christmas is the time to bake cookies.
I hope so because I made a lot of cookies! Lol Thank you Ultra!
I know my DIL would love these, but we don’t have Andes chips here, or at least I have never seen them.
I didn’t know we did either! I just happen to see them at the grocery store. I don’t know how long they have been around but I have never seen them before.
I will look in Florida.
You say “minty and refreshed” … a cookie that could also be used as a toothpaste … that sounds just perfect to me!!
Yes and this one you can swallow! Does it get any better than that? 😂
I know Santa would love these Diane – he and the reindeer are probably living on pizza to get them through the long Christmas Eve journey and they need a sweet treat right about now. I just checked and Santa and the reindeer are in Africa. These look delicious and I like those candies – I must get myself together … I did no decorating and used to put out candy dishes and treats at work and home. I’ve not had Andes Mints in ever so long.
They are wonderful for candy dishes. I think Santa loves all cookies. Lol
I was surprised they had them as “chips” like a chocolate chip as I would have just thought you cut up the actual flat Andes candy. Yes, Santa is never rude and eats everything left on the plates left for him. 🙂
These look ABSOLUTELY MARVELLOUS!!
They really are, however, they are so minty that they made the cookies they touched minty too. Lol My daughter said mom this covid has made the snickerdoodles tasty like mint. Hahaha I said not covid. So when I make them again they will get their own plate. Thank you ❤️
