Ohhh I have never heard of plum torte, but sounds delightful. It actually sounds like a wonderful fall recipe- I may need to try this out soon!! Bookmarking now 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing, Diane!
Hmm – I think my comment vanished into thin air. This looks delicious Diane. My mom made something similar and also a German version called “plum kuchen”.
Lol I deleted the other comment. I have always loved any kuchen. The bakery I worked in from age 14-19 made a sour cream kuchen and I could have eaten the entire thing! I bet that plum kuchen was delicious too.
Thank you Diane. I typed the comment and then where did it go? How did it land on Andy’s comment area – Twilight Zone stuff. 🙂 My mom used to make a sour cream coffee cake – it was wonderful. Not too sweet, just right. I can remember the plum kuchen, laying out all the plum slices. Pear kuchen too, with chocolate shavings on top. The good ol’ days as I’ll never cook like that.

That looks lovely and delicious. And the patterning at the top of the torte is nice!

Thank you it actually made that pattern as it cooked. All I did was place the plums on top.
