Thank You

I am so humbled by my 11,481 followers that took my blog stats over 600,000 hits last Saturday. Who would have known that a simple country grandma like me would meet so many wonderful people just by sharing my recipes!

I hope you enjoy these pictures of my Rose of Sharon Bush as much as the bees and butterflies enjoyed the pollen and nectar.

Have a fantastic week!

    • I would love all different colors but we have fields all around our house. With the winter winds it’s hard to keep them alive. I almost lost this one 2 years ago but after cutting it back it grew and flowered this year thank goodness! Thank you cigarman!

    • I almost lost this bush 2 years ago Linda. I planted it where the cold winter wind blows right through it. I cut it way back along with all the dead limbs which was half of the bush. Last year I got leaves but no flowers. Then I bought the cabana and it somewhat blocks the wind and this year it was gorgeous.

      • That’s great news – my rosebushes have not looked great since the extreme cold in the previous Winter. I can’t reach the dead canes as they are big bushes, but I fertilized them and they are doing well … I though they gave up the ghost two times now. Are you getting lots of use out of the cabana or has it been too hot to feel comfortable outside? We’re back in the muggies again today for the next week.

      • I use the cabana to sit and enjoy nature most days. The grandkids love playing in it too. I had a picnic on the 4th of July and hopefully another for Labor Day, depending on the virus. We put up these silver twirling reflective sticks because the birds started pooping everywhere and so far it has worked. It’s been clean for 3 weeks now.

      • That’s good that it helps … I had to use some silver tape that wiggled as the birds kept trying to nest in the coach light. I finally have put an empty box in the elbow … doesn’t look like “House Beautiful” but keeps them out. I can probably take it out now – I think they are done with their second brood.

    • Yes you are definitely right about sharing what I love! But I never thought I would meet so many people that I love talking to also. That was a definite plus! Thank you Kyra. ❤️
