Simple & Quick Flatbread Pizza
A simple way for everyone to make their own pizza using store bought flatbread. My grandkids thought this was the best pizza EVER! Spread pizza sauce on the flatbread, your favorite toppings and cheese then bake in the oven for the easiest pizza you will ever make. Of course grandma’s pizza was the best because it had the most ingredients on top!
I prepped everything the family wanted on their pizza. Chopped fresh basil, grated fresh mozzarella cheese and chopped the cooked chicken sausage.
Spray a large, heavy bottom baking sheet with cooking oil. Preheat the oven to 425º.
Grab all available children (big and small) and have them place the flatbread onto the prepared baking sheet. Have them place pizza sauce on top to within 1/2” from the edge.
Here are my grandchildren’s finished pizza’s, my granddaughter’s is on the left and my grandson’s is on the right. They did a really nice job don’t you think?
I baked their pizza’s first and they didn’t take long as all I wanted was the cheese melted and the pizza hot. They both ate it all because they made them after all!
Next up was my husband’s and my pizza. Normally we would add raw onion and my husband loves green pepper. However, since these only cook long enough to get hot and to melt the cheese the harder veggies wouldn’t cook. Now you could precook them and add them but I wasn’t up to that so we did without.
I added so many more goodies on my pizza than my husband.
We sprinkled the tops with the freshly grated mozzarella cheese and topped with pepperoni.
After baking, this is my husband’s finished pizza. Bake them about 5 to 10 minutes or until your desired crispiness, as long as it is hot and the cheese is melted.
I baked mine a little longer and this is my finished pizza. See how much better mine turned out? But seriously, they were very good and everyone loved them.
Whether you have kids or not, these are worth making for a Simple & Quick Flatbread Pizza!

That does look a fun thing for kids to make!! When I was a child my mother taught me how to make something she called a frying pan pizza. There was no yeast or anything, just self-raising flour and it tasted ok to me.

That is so interesting! I have never heard of that before.

I only remember it because, as a child, I felt a real sense of achievement of having cooked a ‘pizza’ from scratch. If I ever come across the recipe, I shall let you know 😉

I can still remember my grandfather’s pizza. Loved him dearly, but his pizza was the worst. Unfortunately, I inherited his “expertise.”

Hahaha If you were a child then it might surprise you and you might like it now. There are so many things we don’t like as a child and do like when we get older, at least for me.

Pizza and omelettes are like blank canvasses. You can turn them into any kind of food you want.

What a fun and hearty activity to do together as a family. And a way for your grandkids to appreciate their hard work. I do have to ask, where are the flaming hot Cheetos on your granddaughter’s pizza?

OHHHHHHH!!!!! I can’t wait to ask her about that! We are forever buying the Flamin Hot Cheetos Mac & Cheese now. She loves it!

I have made pizzas with english muffins, but never flatbread. I think this is just what my granddaughter needs for lunch next week. I know she would love to make her own pizza. Yum.

My 6 year old grandson was ecstatic! He said “You mean I get to make it completely by myself?” He thought it was the best thing ever! It was the perfect size too. Let me know how she likes it.

Will do. I will ask her today what she wants on it, so I can get everything when I do shopping.

I asked my partner to bring pizza with on his way home from work and he jokingly said I should make own. This was not the worst idea ever, and the very next day I nervously tried my hand at it. I made the base myself though and I was very happy to be able to add as much cheese on top as I wanted. This flatbread Pizza looks great and I love that it will save me time. I just have to try it.

Making your own pizza is always so delicious but sometimes I just don’t want to cook and ordering out comes in handy. I agree about the cheese! Lol

Oh, these look great and I’ve been craving pizza for such a long time … that pesky laptop is still there, parked on the glass-topped stove since June 2019 as you well know. In the meantime, I have to settle for Pizza Goldfish. 🙂 My favorite line in this recipe: “Grab all available children (big and small) ….” 🙂
