Tomato Cream Sauce
I took a trip to Trader Joe’s which is almost an hour away. I like to stock up on food when I go there and freeze it. I bought these ravioli because I love lobster and they looked so pretty! I have never cooked lobster ravioli before so I wasn’t sure what kind of sauce to make. I decided on this Tomato Cream Sauce recipe I found at http://www.halfbakedharvest.com which turned out to be a great choice. This was a creamy tomato sauce full of flavor that is made with tomatoes, cheese, onion, garlic, milk, parsley and basil.
I bought lobster and bolognese ravioli. Normally
I would make my own but these looked too
good to pass up! Yes even I cheat and
buy prepared food some times.
In a medium pot, heat the olive oil
and butter over medium heat.
Add the onions and cook for 5 minutes.
Add the garlic and cook for one minute.
Stir in the tomatoes and season with salt and pepper.
Turn to low heat. Stirring occasionally cook
for 15-20 minutes until slightly thickened.
Stir in the milk, cheese, parsley and basil
then cook another 5-10 minutes until hot.
Serve over prepared and hot ravioli.

Tomatoes 🤢 lol!!!!
Oh no!!!! But then again I am like that with green pepper. Lol
Green peppers are good though!
Hahaha no tomatoes are 😜
Wanna arm wrestle over it?? 😂🤣😂
No you would win! Lol
Pepper power 🙌
Cheater!
Don’t be a hater like a mater 😂
🤣
Looks so good.
Thank you Christy! ❤️
You’re welcome.
You had me at lobster Diane
I thought so too Sheree but they ground it so fine, no chunks, that it seeped out of the ravioli and went into the water. It was such tiny pieces I couldn’t even scoop it out of the water. The bolognese ravioli was very good though.
😞
Lobster ravioli sounds delicious! We don’t have Trader Joe’s here. Yum. And the sauce looks delicious. Enjoy!
Thank you we love all of their chicken brats….amazing!
Can you please invite me to dinner? 😉 Looks so good!
You can come anytime Betty! Thank you and enjoy the weekend.
Looks like a great sauce, Diane. How was the lobster ravioli? Would you buy it again?
Although the pasta was good and very pretty, there was only a ground up lobster inside. It was so small that almost all of it came out of the ravioli and in the water. I will not but it again. However, the Bolognese ravioli was amazing. Thank you Carla.
Good to know, I won’t buy it if I see then. Although until they open the border, I won’t be at a Trader Joes. I am making Rueben Casserole today. The kids are coming for dinner.
I hope everyone enjoyed it!❤️
They really did, especially my daughter-in-law.
❤️
Yummy 😋. Now this is the perfect dinner for a lazy weekend!
I must admit, we’ve never made ravioli ourselves, but love to make sauces going with it … and your’s looks like a true winner!
Thank you I did take a pasta class a few years ago and made ravioli but not lobster ravioli. I was disappointed with this one because all they put in it was like ground up lobster and you couldn’t even taste it. The pasta part was so pretty though..lol
Yes, it is indeed pretty … I should have kept one or two of those lobsters we’ve caught and try and made our own ravioli 🤔.
Oh stop you’re killing me! Hahaha
😋
I had no idea that lobster ravioli existed! Your sauce sounds like it worked out perfectly.
The sauce was very good, the ravioli not so much.
I’ve had those lobster ravioli, too, but, as you said, the lobster part of it is not very impressive. But I do like the Ravioli with truffles and porcini mushrooms (I already had that in Germany, where Aldi carried it).
Oh I would LOVE that kind too!!!!! I love anything with mushrooms.
Always a yum from me. I guess I need to give up my ideas of being a runway model. LOL
Hahaha I gave that up decades ago! Thanks Barb!
Trader Joe’s! You lucky girl! I have yet to venture to Trader Joe’s, but when I do I know it’s going to be quite the shopping trip because I have missed so many of their products during the past year. I have eyeballed that lobster ravioli in the past, but never had the nerve to try it. Thanks for the encouragement. Meanwhile, your sauce looks delicious. There’s nothing better than homemade sauce, is there?
Going there was a nice drive and the coolers go with us too…lol We weren’t thrilled with the lobster ravioli, not worth it! I still have two more kinds of ravioli in the freezer to try though. The bolognese ravioli were delicious! Yes homemade sauce is great!
Looks absolutely yummy…a definite keeper!
Thank you it could be used on all kinds of pasta.
Lobster ravioli – that’s different and very pretty too. This sounded good and did you know that yesterday yesterday was National Ravioli Day? https://wordpress.com/read/feeds/56504789/posts/3242061534
No I didn’t, how funny!
I thought so too – in fact I wondered if you knew and tied it into that. I follow that blog but I have never heard of a lot of the holidays they advertise.
This looks delicious! I love Italian food in general and this is super easy 🙂
It really was easy and tasted great too. Thank you! ❤️
Of course cannot pass by 😉 Looks so great and definitely delicious with the sauce 😉
Thanks!
That sounds very yummy! We live far from TJ’s too and it is like an outing to get there 🙂
We don’t go much but when we do I have 2 large coolers that go too..lol
Those really are pretty! And the sauce sounds delicious.
One day, when I am not watching the grandkids so much, I want to make dough like that. It really doesn’t look hard to do.
That would be a fun project 🙂
Oh my, I’m behind on your recipes! I should be reading after I go food shopping, I’ve just added 12 ingredients to my list! This looks so good! Thanks Diane, C
Hahahaha Sounds like you will be doing some cooking! Thanks ❤️
