Kyocera Ceramic Knife Review
I bought this Ceramic Knife for a family member a while back and all she did was rave about it. I decided to ask my husband for the same one for Christmas. It is a Kyocera Advanced Ceramic Revolution Series 4.5-inch Utility Knife that was from Amazon for around $25.00.
I never would have thought a Ceramic Knife would be sharp enough to cut anything which is why I never bought one. Then the hefty price definitely stopped me from getting one as I am a frugal spender (OK I’m cheap). But I couldn’t come up with anything for my Christmas list so I thought I would give it a try.
I loved that it was red since that is my favorite color. I didn’t like that it didn’t come in a case to protect the blade. I made a foil sleeve for it and it worked perfectly!
Now how do I like it? I don’t think I will ever buy a regular knife again. This was the sharpest (which could be dangerous) knife I have ever owned. I use it for everything! It even cut my partially frozen meat perfectly that I sliced for my beef jerky.
The only negative thing I can think of (other than I wish it had a case to store it in) is that it is so sharp and when I used it to cut food in my glass casserole dish, it actually cut into the glass leaving it scratched. So my advice is to not cut on anything except a cutting board because it will scratch it. This gets a 5 star rating from me!
I was not compensated for this review, it is my honest opinion.

Okay that is PRETTY SHARP if it cut glass – wow!
I know right! It was my favorite blue 9×13 dish that I usually use to post with. I was shocked!
I’m always looking for a good knife. Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome Anna!
Wow, that sounds awesome. I thought the same thing as you Diane. I will have to see how much they charge in Canada. Unless the border restrictions are lifted, I can’t do pick ups in the US anymore.
They look so strange, like a toy but my goodness is it sharp and precise. This was the first time I didn’t mine slicing the meat for my beef jerky and I have made a lot! Onions, tomatoes, meats….I use it fro everything. I hope you can find one Carla.
$40.00 in Canada, so not too bad, With exchange the 26.00 US becomes 35 Canadian anyway.
Great it’s worth it.
I don’t think I’ve ever even used one of these, but it sounds like it is definitely worth a try.
This was my first time and it won’t be my last!
So good to know!
Reblogged this on Love and Love Alone.
Thank you so much!!!
Do you give back a piece of money, when receiving a knife ? The knife is supposed to cut friendship – !
I am nos superstitiois, but …
amitiés 🙂
No money, I bought this one so my husband could give it to me for Christmas. I’m not superstitious either…lol
I’ve never had a ceramic knife. It would never occur to me that the ceramic knife will be durable. Thank you, I will buy it.
Cordiality
I was completely surprised how much I would love it. I can’t wait to put more on my Christmas list!
Thank you for your review, Diane. My one DIL has ceramic knives, she likes hers too! I don’t know the brand name though. 🙂

You’re welcome Mitzy! I love mine so much that I have strict instructions nobody’s allowed to use it. Lol
Haha! I am like that with my scissors, Diane, and my tools for that matter! Bahaha! Some things are simply a “no-touchy!” 🙂
We are a lot alike Mitzy! My Fiskar scissors are completely off limits. No one uses anything in my sew/craft room…lol
Bahaha! This is hilarious, Diane. 🙂
Many years ago, a friend of mine and I went to an open house for a copier/printer/scanning company. They had asked us to come because they were trying to sell the company I worked for the idea that we could store documents more efficiently than having paper all over the place. They had a raffle drawing and my friend won a Kyocera knife (they also manufacture copy machines, at least they did in 2004). The knife cost nearly $200. We took it back with us and tried to cut a tomato and the slices were paper thin. She loved that knife. Yes, it was super sharp, but it could cut anything. We haven’t discussed it lately, but I am certain she still has it. I have a couple Cutco knives and they are good knives, but that Kyocera knife was a gem!
Wow I guess I picked a good one then. I really know nothing about them other than I bought this one as a gift first. I can’t wait to get more! Thank you
Thanks, Diane! I have been looking at ceramic knives for a while but wasn’t sure. Your review helped me decide! 🙂
You’re very welcome Felicia! I have been using mine for almost 2 months and still love it!
This is really “sharp” information, thanks Diane, my knives are a total embarrassment! I love the red handle and might have to invest in one. C
Hahaha still bringing a smile to my face! Thanks Cheryl ❤️
A good knife makes such a difference and is worth the investment! Glad you got a pragmatic gift that you enjoy too!
Me too! Thanks!
I can imagine they’re sharp as a razor! But couldn’t hold up to rough tasks lol!
It’s a paring knife, you could skin a deer with it! 🤣😂🤣
It sure can! But can it chop wood, start a fire or whittle?? 😁
How much wood could a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood with this knife! See what you do to me! Hahaha
My husband loves a good sharp knife … currently we only have one (which is in constant use). Keeping in mind the exchange rate from US dollar to South African Rand (which I think is x 14 👀), it might cost us a pretty penny!
But if it works like you said, it might just be the perfect gift for our 25th anniversary … the question I have though, can you buy a knife for your husband to celebrate 25 years of love … 😉
Well of course…lol
Amazing! Ill have to invest in one!
I really love mine!
Thank you for sharing this Diane, I was looking for something like this will look for it .
You’re welcome! I really love it and will be looking at another larger one this Christmas.
That’s an interesting review, Diane. I’m not familiar with this knife, so I’m glad to learn about it and get your honest comments. I’m tempted to order one, but then I think it might be too dangerous for this klutz to have. LOL!
The one I bought for a family member actually cut her finger pretty good. I told my husband he is not allowed to use it just for that reason. He chopped part of his finger the other day with the new vegetable peeler I bought him. I’m sure my time is coming but if anything happens to this knife I will order another.
Thanks Dianne for the honest review.
You’re welcome I love this knife!
Wow! Good.to.know!!!!
Thanks it is definitely my favorite knife!
Showed my hubby your post. Looks like I know what to get him for his birthday.
I take no responsibility for cut fingers….lol Seriously though, it is a great gift!
Red for your favorite color as well as for Christmas. Is the curvy handle help for slicing too?
It is just very comfortable in my hand. I wonder who ever thought to make a ceramic knife. I still can’t believe how sharp it is.
Yes, you’d think it would shatter if you hit it the wrong way and here it cuts better than the sharpest blade!
I’ve heard so many good things about ceramic knives– I really need to get one.
I never had until a family member asked for one for Christmas two years ago. She kept telling how great it was then asked for another one but a different size. I can’t wait to get another size as this is the only knife I use now….lol
Lol You’re spoiled now 🙂
Don’t I know it…lol
Thanks for the review. My only issue with a really sharp knife is ending up cutting myself. I have to be really careful. I’d not heard of a ceramic knife. I’ll have to check them out. What about a knife block that holds knives for your new knife and others?
I do have one but I won’t use it because I refuse to let anyone else use my favorite knife so I hide it in a drawer instead…lol
I stayed at a woman’s home and she had a fancy set of knives. I got so weary of the how to handle her knives lectures, over and over and over, that I gave up and used only my $3 knife I had purchased in an Asian market 🙂
Hahaha you don’t mess with a woman and her knives. I think I would have done the same thing as you did Katelon!
Wow, it is so sharp that it cut through glass! Thanks for the honest review; it sounds great.
Yes it left huge marks in the bottom of my favorite 9×13 glass dish! Now I know…lol
I’ve heard such countless beneficial things about artistic blades I truly need to get one.
It is the only one I use unless I am cutting when there is bones. Best knife I have ever had in all my years of cooking.
