Thank you Beth I usually make a lot of soup in the winter and winter is about done!
Never tried this. Will have to give it a go.
Nice and easy!!! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
The basic soups seem to be the ones that pick up flavor the best!
Yes and it uses common ingredients we usually have on hand.
Hearty deliciousness in a bowl
Thank you Matt!
That looks so good!!!!!
Thank you it really turned out great. My husband isn’t crazy about ham so this was a real treat for me.

This looks delicious. I have to make soup for a church dinner when I get home, this should be a winner. Yum.
Awww what a nice soup for church!!! Thank you Carla and I hope it’s a hit!
We shall see, it looks like the dinners might be cancelled.
Yes it sure does. Stay healthy Carla!
Back in the day, (when there was still three of us), we usually got a small Honey-Baked Ham for the holidays and the leftover ham was used for ham and bean soup and ham and split-pea soup.
I haven’t had split pea soup since childhood! My mom always bought a ham with a bone too and made the ham & bean soup….yum!
Indeed – I can taste it now! In Canada we used to have a canned soup we bought sometimes, “Habitant split pea soup” and it was yellow peas … tasted really good, but different. There was a restaurant called “The Magic Pan” here about twenty years ago – it was a franchise and they served that French-Canadian style yellow peas soup and put a dollop of sour cream on top and sprinkled chives on the sour cream. We never did that though.
Never heard of that soup before.
It does not look like split pea soup – it was chunkier as the peas were whole.
Well prepared.
Thank you so much ❤️
My Mom made this often! She sometimes added peas and carrots.
Yum!
Oh I like that!! My husband doesn’t like peas and I rarely fix them. Your mom is a smart woman.
This soup looks divine. I like how you used fairly large pieces of potato and ham – and the green onion garnish. It makes for a nice presentation.
Thanks so much Sheryl❤️
Very nice. Are you going to publish your recipes in a book?
I am considering it. I have the links to get started but need to find the time…lol Thank you for asking!!!
Thank you so much for sharing my recipe!!!
Gotta remember this for post-Easter ham leftovers!
Definitely mine was from Christmas ham…lol
This looks delicious. If a picture is worth a thousand words, your picture here is worth at least that many soup slurps. I’ll give it a try.
Hahaha you’re hilarious!!! Thank you for your kind words.
