Tomato with Basil & Mozzarella Cheese is an amazing combination. My husband and I usually like food fixed the same way but this is one we like differently. He likes this just like the picture shows, not cooked. Me on the other hand, I prefer mine cooked in the oven where the tomato is warm and the cheese is melted. So I will leave it up to you how you would like to fix yours. The recipe is the same either way other than mine goes into the oven. It’s even great drizzled with balsamic vinegar.

Simple but so good!
It sounds simple and delicious and summery!
Very simple and so good Joni! Thanks and have a great week!
I think I might try them both ways!
Also good drizzled with balsamic vinegar! ❤
I think I would like these cooked too.
I think it makes the tomato taste sweeter. Have a great weekend Jess!
Thanks! Same to you!
I wish I could eat more tomatoes! My stomach is usually pretty upset with me when I do but it doesn’t stop me from ingesting it! Lol
Awwww that is a shame! When our garden gives us tomatoes I eat them sliced with salt by the plate full. I never knew they would mess up a stomach! So sorry!
We love making this – yummy!
It is isn’t it! Thanks Pam!
Love this simple dish!!
I seem to be falling off follows, so I re-follow when necessary. It must be a WP thing?
That is so strange! I expect that with Facebook but not WP.
I like tomatoes with lightly baked cheese. I put basil on it. Do I make this dish well?
I wish you a happy meal
Basil is amazing and I grow it in our garden! Yes you do excellent choice!
Looks so good! I’m hungry – not a good time to be reading this because I wont be having these tonight. But it’s something I can plan to make!
Thank you! I can make a meal out of these!
Hey that’s a great idea!!!
They look good Diane – my mom liked them like your husband, in fact she would take tomatoes and just slice them and put a 1/2 slice of Mozzarella, then a slice of tomato, then cheese, etc. and just drizzle Italian dressing over them. A quickie way to do it.
I would love that! I love Italian dressing on tomatoes! Thanks Linda!
Yes, it was good and fast too Diane.
I LOVE caprese tomatoes. Never had them warm but believe I would enjoy them! 💕
I will have to try them cold! Thanks Bernice.
They are awesome especially when you drizzle a good BV on them. 🙂
Oh this looks so good!
Thank you they taste amazing!

Thank you so much for reblogging! Enjoy your Sunday!
We think, we’d prefer them your way, Diane. We’ll give them a try next time we’ve got some garden tomatoes.
They are definitely best with fresh garden tomatoes. I don’t care what kind of tomato the stores sell, they are never tasty like home grown!
I’m with you Diane. I’ve done this before and my vote is absolutely that they are better heated! I usually use halved tomatoes, stuffed with pesto fresh breadcrumbs, and topped with the mozzarella. It’s the best!
I’m coming to your house! That sounds amazing Dorothy! I love pesto!
Always a place at the table!
One of my top faves!
I make this all summer when we head to the LakeHouse! Our fresh Basil and homegrown tomatoes! I like it both ways… but if it’s hot and humid… I like it cold. Yum! Happy Day to you!
Thank you! There is nothing better than homegrown!
