Easy Pizza Dough
This is my favorite pizza dough recipe. Practically no kneading! It is so much better tasting and easier to work with than that canned stuff! I like to make mine up ahead of time and put it in the refrigerator until I make my pizza later that day or even the next day. You can even put it in the freezer. To use it after freezing it, let it thaw overnight in the refrigerator.

I am a New Yorker and I haven’t had a slice of pizza in weeks. Need to change that. Thanks for the reminder.
Oh my gosh you are really missing out! lol You’re welcome!

Looks great and I like that I can make an extra batch to Freeze.
Thank you it is so ice to pull it out of the freezer the night before and have a homemade crust all ready to go.
Ah I’ve avoided making pizza dough as it seemed complicated but this looks easy!
Tierney it is so easy! The only thing is make sure your water is the temperature in the recipe and you will be successful!
Yum! There’s really nothing like hot, fresh pizza from scratch. I love the smell of it!
I agree and it is so fun making your own!
We use baking powder biscuit dough for ours, but this looks good!
Wow I have never heard of that before, sound interesting and delicious!
It is! Just use 1 tbsp less of baking power in the recipe 😊
Is cake flour the same as all purpose flour, only it’s been sifted pretty fine? I was wondering how the cake flour would work to make the pizza dough.
No cake flour is different than all purpose flour as it has a lower protein content, however, you can use cake flour but you need to substitute 1 cup plus 2 Tbsp cake flour for every cup of all purpose flour according to Joy of Baking. I personally have never used cake flour so give it a try and let me know how it works please.
Thank you for your question Maggy.
Cake flour is generally great in baked goods where you don’t want to develop gluten, such as pie crust, muffins, cakes, etc. With yeasted breads, you want gluten development, so a higher protein flour is usually recommended. The cake flour is also bleached which also alters the grain.
Dorothy thank you so much for your expertise! Although I love making breads etc. I don’t know the science behind it. Your comment is greatly appreciated!
Thank you Diane! Always a pleasure to share any knowledge I might have acquired along the way. Just passing it on!
Wonderful share! Thanks.
This looks great. Have you ever put any whole grain flour in it?
No I never have but I bet it would taste great.
Do you twirl it in the air to stretch it like the pizzamakers at Pizza Hut do?
Nope I use a rolling pin that way my husband behaves! hahahahaha
Keep ’em in line Diane, that’s what I always say too!
