Slow Cooker Philly Cheesesteak is one of my husbands favorite sandwiches! This makes a hearty lunch or supper. The slow cooker does all the work so all you have to do is put the sandwich together. Dip the sandwich into the delicious juices leftover in the slow cooker for even more flavor.

  1. That sandwich looks delicious, but as a proud son of Philadelphia (OK, the immediate western suburbs), I am obligated to point out that a cheesesteak (no “Philly” attached) is thinly-sliced ribeye chopped up and grilled quickly on a hot flat surface with salt, pepper and a little oil. The usual cheese is “Wiz,” though I prefer provolone. Grilled onions (wit’ or wit’out) are optional. It is served on a long sub roll (say, Amoroso or from those amazing bakeries in Atlantic City). My personal favorite is Dalesssandros, on Henry Avenue in Roxborough. Mangia! 🙂

    • Ohhhhh you make it sound so good! The cheese is “Wiz”? You aren’t talking about Cheez Wiz are you? It is funny how different areas make a food a certain way and call it the same thing. This is the only way I have ever seen it made in our area. Any way you fix this, it is so good! Thanks for the heads up of the authentic way! 😄
