Apple Dumpling Balls

Do you ever get hungry for Apple Dumplings and you want them made in a hurry? That’s what happened to me so I used store bought pie crust and made individual Apple Dumpling Balls. I have no problem making a good pie crust but with the grandkids here and my husband working I just didn’t want any more mess or work. If you ever need to buy pie crust, Pillsbury boxed crusts are almost as good as if you made them yourself and they are so easy to work with!

What is an Apple Dumpling Ball? It is what I call apple slices, cinnamon, sugar and a pat of butter all inside pie crust and formed into a ball. Normal Apple Dumplings are made with whole apples that have been cored, peeled and left whole. I couldn’t find my apple corer so I decided to wrap apples that I peeled, sliced and then I formed into a ball and I baked them that way. It didn’t matter if apple pieces were sticking out or not completely covered by the dough. They definitely are worth making again!
