Super Ball
Occasionally I add a craft to my blog in addition to a recipe. Today the grandkids and I decided to make super balls! They only use five ingredients and believe or not they turned out! They were not very messy to make and were simple too! They only bounce about a foot but the kids thought they were great. I don’t know how long they will last but as easy as they were who cares.

Ingredients
- Borax
- cornstarch
- warm water
- food coloring
- Elmer’s glue
Directions
- In a small bowl mix 2 Tbsp warm water with 1/2 tsp borax. Add food coloring and stir until borax is dissolved.
- In another small bowl, add 1 Tbsp glue, 1/2 tsp of the Borax solution in #1 and 1 Tbsp of cornstarch…DO NOT STIR….wait 15 seconds.
- Stir until it is too hard to stir anymore, put the glob in your hand and start rolling into a ball. If the ball doesn’t want to stick together, add a little water.
- Once the ball is formed let it sit for about 15 minutes then bounce away!

I really was expecting this ball to be eatable :'( lol
Hahahahaha that would have been a good post! Occasionally I throw in a craft if it was made In Diane’s Kitchen….lol
Lolol! I know right! Ahahaha!!!! Good one! I love crafts and being crafty!
Fun! My son would love this!
My grandkids sure did! They love making stuff.
That’s neat, I’m going to try that.
The kids loved it because they made it. Today they are playing with it like a ball. It’s not real bouncy today on the hard floor and bounces higher on the carpet…go figure! They played for almost an hour with them today already. I love that they aren’t sticky and can be played with in the house.
You are such a cool Grandma😁
Awww thank you!
I remember playing with one of those when I was a kid … my grandmother once made a lemon pie and it was so rubbery that the family joked it had powers like a superball. (I wouldn’t have laughed because mine might not have been any better!”)
Hahahahaha thanks for a good laugh. One time we made fun of my mom’s dessert and she stood up and dumped it in the trash! There was no dessert that day!
You’re welcome Diane – it was a family joke for years about that lemon meringue pie … no one mentioned the meringue, just the lemon part. Your mom dumping the dessert got you back for laughing at her cooking skills.
Fantastic recipe! I’m going to pass this along to my friend right now for her girls! Thank you 🌞
Thanks the grandkids are still playing with them today. They aren’t that bouncy but the fact that they made them makes them very special! I like that they can play with them in the house!
Looks good
Grandkids loved it!
I use Borax to kill ants and then lice in dogs ears.Spaniels I once bred. The bouncy ball made from it astounds me as what you can do with inagination
Lol yes I use it to make homemade laundry soap and to kill ants. The stuff is amazing!
The picture reminded me of a ball I used to have when I was 4!
Awww love when you see things and it brings back your childhood! It must have been important to you!
Yes…It certainty was good!
Sounds interesting and looks beautiful!
Thank you Megala! Crafts and cooking are my two favorite hobbies!
I think my grandson would love this. We’re going to try it.
Oh I hope he has as much fun as my grandkids did!
Including this craft in my preschool activities for this week… for some reason I couldn’t get it to print… kids are going to have fun with this! ☀️
So sorry it didn’t print! Can you do a screen shot?
Yes, I’ll try that!
That’s genius!
Found it on Pinterest the kids loved it!
Wait a minute – you can’t eat this!😆
Hahahahaha nope but it was made InDianesKitchen….lol
Bouncing odd ball stuff off of your fans?
Not sure what you mean.
So fun! Must try this with the grandkids during summer vacation. They like to create things and choosing the colors will probably be their favorite part!
It was funny but the balls bounced higher on the carpet than the hard floor…lol
