Hershey Chocolate Syrup
What a smooth, creamy and delicious homemade Hershey Chocolate Syrup this turned out to be. The recipe is from a Hershey Cookbook I bought years ago. This is a thick syrup and it is very good. We put it on ice cream but I will be putting it in my coffee too! Use it just like any chocolate syrup!
Ingredients
In a heavy medium saucepan, combine
the chocolate, butter, cocoa, sugar,
water and corn syrup.
Whisk the mixture together over
medium-high heat until
the chocolate and butter are melted
and the sugar is dissolved.
When the sauce just comes to a boil,
reduce the heat to a low boil and cook
for 8-10 minutes stirring frequently.
Remove from the heat, add the
vanilla and stir to combine.
The sauce will thicken as it cools.
If it is too thick you can thin it
with a little water if you wish.
Serve over ice cream or however you
want to use it. Store unused chocolate
syrup covered in the refrigerator.

I totally agree on that 🙂 – And you chocolate syrup looks fantastic – perfect for a Coup Denmark (if you have that in your country).
Thank you and now I will look up Coup Denmark! Oh it’s what we call a hot fudge sundae!

Hahaha yes it is sweet but sooooo good! Lol
This looks so smooth and rich!
It is amazing!
Now that chocolate syrup really looks good. Is this chocolate syrup better than bought chocolate syrup?
It tastes as good as in my onion. Hard to beat a Hershey product but keep in mind this recipe is from a Hershey cookbook! It did thicken up so not as runny as you buy in the store but it can be made thinner by adding a little water. It was great on ice cream and even better in my coffee….lol
Looks good.
Thanks Crystal!
🙂
Yum! Should have had Hubby pick up ice cream on his bread and milk run…… 🙁
Oh most definitely! Thanks Robin!
You had me at the word “chocolate”. Looks so good.
Thank you!
