Shrimp Soup


Wow did this turn out amazing!!! My Shrimp Soup is chucked full of potatoes, onions, shrimp and mushrooms with the most amazing broth! I found the secret to making the best broth ever for this soup! The only thing wrong with this soup is that I didn’t make more!



My secret to this delicious soup is that I used Better Than Bouillon Roasted Chicken Base instead of canned chicken broth. It is absolutely the most flavorful chicken base I have ever tried! When using this product, do not add salt to the recipe. There is the perfect amount of salt in the Better Than Bouillon and it will be too salty if you add more.

My second secret is that I boil the shrimp, save the water and add 1-1/2 cups of the shrimp flavored water to my soup. Make sure you buy raw shrimp so you get to use the water and give the entire broth an amazing shrimp flavor!







Bring a medium pot of water to a boil and boil the thawed shrimp

according to the package instructions being careful not over cook.

Remove the shrimp and set aside saving the water.



In a medium pot add the prepared chicken base, 1-1/2 cups

of water from the shrimp, salt, pepper, potatoes and onion.

Bring to a boil, with a lid, over medium heat cooking until

the potatoes and onions are almost tender.



Add the mushrooms and continue boiling

until potatoes and onions are tender.



Turn off the heat and add the cooked shrimp and Half-n-Half.



Serve immediately.


Shrimp Soup



2 Tbl of “Better Than Bouillon Chicken Base” – mixed with 24 oz boiling water

1 medium onion, chopped

3 medium potatoes, peeled and diced into 1/2″ squares

pepper to taste

1-1/2 cups of the water you boiled the shrimp in

5 large mushrooms, sliced thick

10 oz frozen raw shrimp, thawed

1/2 cup Half-n-Half


Bring a medium pot of water to a boil over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook according to the package directions being careful not to over cook. Remove the shrimp from the water, saving the water, and set aside.

In a medium pot, with a lid, over medium heat boil the prepared Better Than Bouillon Chicken Base, shrimp water, potatoes, onions and pepper until the potatoes are almost tender.

Add the mushrooms and continue to boil until potatoes are completely tender.

Remove from the heat, add the shrimp and the Half-n-Half.

Serve immediately.
