Homemade Sausage Patties

These Homemade Sausage Patties were so simple to make. My husband gets the credit for this one. He ground his own pork with my Kitchen Aid grinder attachment. If you want to make it easy, have the butcher at the grocery store grind it for you as they don’t usually charge to do so. Then just add the spices, form into patties and cook.

Start by cutting your pork into small pieces,

discarding any bones or large pieces of fat.

Grind the meat with a grinder.

Add the spices and form into patties.

Cook until golden brown and no longer pink inside then serve.

Homemade Sausage Patties

2 tsp dried sage

2 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper

1 tsp dried basil

1 Tbl light brown sugar

1/8 tsp red pepper flakes

1 pinch ground cloves

2# ground pork or a 3-4 pound pork shoulder and grind your own

In a large bowl, mix all of the ingredients together really well.

Form into patties. Let sit in the refrigerator over night to enhance the flavor.

Cook in a pan over medium heat until no longer pink inside and a golden brown outside.

  1. Oh my goodness, what a help this will be, Diane! I got a Kitchen Aid for Christmas, and a grinder attachment. I told hubby I will be making pork sausage for breakfast sandwiches. Our interests are very similar! Thank you!
