Easy Creamy Clam Chowder Recipe

The best Clam Chowder I have ever made, with clams and potatoes in a thick, creamy broth that tastes delicious! If you love clam chowder you will definitely want to try this one.

In a blender add clam juice, chicken broth, dry milk and flour.

Blend until completely combined with no lumps remaining.

Pour into a large saucepan.

Simmer, stirring constantly, over medium high heat until thick and smooth.

Reduce heat to low and add the potatoes, clams, celery, onion flakes, parsley flakes, salt and pepper then stir.

Bring to a simmer. Simmer for 15-20 minutes stirring frequently.

Add heavy cream and stir.

Then serve.

That looks wonderful
I have finally found my favorite way to make it, thank you Derrick!
My OH loves clam chowder, I’ll have to give your recipe a go Diane
After all these years of trying to have the perfect recipe, this was it for us, enjoy Sheree!
Will do
I love soup and this is one I’ve never made, so you’ve given me the confidence with this to try to make it
This soup was as delicious as it was easy. You have to try it Beth!
I definitely will
I can’t wait to try this technique. Mouthwatering!
This is the only way I will ever make it again, thank you!
Love a corn chowder!
Oh yes, chowder always tastes so good.
Using powdered milk in the preparation and heavy cream at the end sounds like a good trick for avoiding problems (curdling?). Thanks, Diane!
It sure does and it helps the creamy white color. Adding the cream at the end always gives it the best flavor too.
That sounds like an easier recipe than the one I tried years ago. Have you ever added bacon? The recipe I used had bacon in it.
It was very easy and it didn’t take long to make either. You know how much I love bacon but not in clam chowder for me.
I like thick New England-style clam chowder too – it’s must more filling and creamier than Manhattan clam chowder.
Me too Linda, my absolute favorite soup is New England style. I never liked the Manhattan version.
Me neither – I thought it was watery. I like full-bodied soups.
Oh, that looks very tasty, Diane. Perfect for a cooler autumn bread and with a warm roll of bread!
I have tried so many clam chowder recipes and could never come up with the perfect one, this was it! Thank you Ab!
Your chowder looks delicious. There’s a somewhat similar chowder from Scotland. It uses haddock, not clams. It has a weird name: Cullen skink.
What a funny name, it must stand for something Scottish! Thank you!
Hi. I had Cullen skink a number of years ago. It was great.
It sounds good even though I had to Google it to see what it is. đŸ¤£
This would be an incredibly ambitious one for me to try.
All it takes is the blender and a saucepan, super easy and the taste was fabulous. It didn’t take long at all either.
Yummy – I can almost taste this! It’s the type of dish I’d order in a restaurant but never thought I’d be able to make myself … just maybe …
Super easy to make and well worth it, thank you!
Thank you!
I love clam chowder and this looks easy and yummy. I will have to give it a try.
You will love this Carla. I swear it tasted like a restaurants, it was that good.
My mouth is already watering, Diane.
