Cast Iron Pan Pizza Recipe

Who needs to order pizza out when it tastes this good from home? The best part about making your own pizza is that you can add whatever you want to it. This pizza reminds me of a pizza cooked in a brick oven only you get to stay home.

  1. The older I get, the more I love my cast iron pans. I have never made a pizza in mine, but I’m adding it to the list, right after I make a Dutch Baby.

    • I was the same way, loving them as I got older. Now I am 65 and I am finding it harder and harder to lift them but I still won’t give them up. They sell some now that are wonderful according to the people that have them and they are much lighter to lift. I may have to go that route in a few years. I have never made a Dutch Baby, enjoy!

  2. Going to have to try this. We don’t have a lot of places dependably open that make pizza. One of the tradeoffs I’m willing to make to live in the mountains!☺️

  3. My favorite food to crave and/or salivate over Diane. My mom gave her cast iron frying pans to my father when he took a job in Holland, Ohio and she never got them back as they cleared out the apartment after he left the country. I could have made pizza now that I can see the stove again.

      • Yes, we went once to take him clothes and food – they had a work emergency so he couldn’t come home that weekend, so we went to the apartment. Yes, she liked her cast iron like you do. Yes, after five years!

  4. I love home-baked pizza because then I can put on as many ingredients as I want without paying extra for it ☺️! We have the cast iron pan, so there’s no reason why I’m not going to try your recipe – thanks Diane!

    • You could do the same thing over the fire. The secret to this recipe is that you get the cast iron pan screaming hot then add the pizza dough. I try to shape the dough close to the size of the pan ahead of time so I don’t have to touch the hot pan. We each make our own pizza and add as many ingredients too.
