One Minute Microwave S’more

What do you do if you, your kids or grandkids are craving a S’more but you don’t have a campfire? Make them in your microwave! They taste just as delicious as the campfire and you can make them in one minute.

I tried them years ago with both the chocolate and marshmallow on the graham cracker, in the microwave, but found the chocolate melts too much this way. Now, I only microwave the marshmallow on the graham cracker as heat from the marshmallow softens the chocolate without the chocolate oozing out as much when you bite into it. After all, I want to eat the chocolate not leave it all over the plate.

Break one graham cracker in half and place it on a microwave safe plate. Lay a large marshmallow in the middle of the graham cracker.

Microwave for 5-10 seconds on high. Watch carefully and when the marshmallow doubles in size take it out of the microwave.

Immediately press half of a room temperature chocolate bar on top.

Put the other graham cracker half of top. Let it sit for 30 seconds to soften the chocolate then dig in!

  1. I was just talking with T about s’mores last night. We’re hoping to go camping before school starts and this was on our wish list. If we get rained out, we’ll know this Microwave alternative!

    • I hope you get to go camping. There is that special feeling when you get to roast the marshmallows over the campfire. Didn’t T make a tent in your house a long time ago? This would be fun to make in the microwave if he ever does that again.

      • The weather ended up being bad this weekend so we skipped camping. Having a low key long weekend at home instead.

And yes, we put up the tent during the first pandemic summer in 2020! Thanks for remembering. 😊

  2. This is the last thing I need! 😉 Seriously, what a great idea. Now, if I could just silence that microwave beep at midnight….

      • I used to eat it a lot when I was younger. You take a spoon, put it in hot water, then it is easy to dip into the marshmallow creme and put it on your peanut butter on your toast. They even had a jingle for it for a TV commercial.

      • Yes, because even though the marshmallow creme doesn’t have to be refrigerated, heating the spoon made it easy to get it out of the jar before your toast got cold. Now I want some. They used to sell it at Meijer – where they have the marshmallows/baking stuff. My mom used to bake a small chocolate cake, cut it in half and put marshmallow creme in between the layers and chocolate icing on top. Not a lot of marshmallow creme as it is pretty sweet.

      • I like that idea of a no-bake cake and eclairs sounds delicious. I know you will take photos so we can salivate over it. 🙂 I know you will put marshmallow creme on your next shopping list!

      • OMG I have never seen that commercial! I would definitely try it if I had the marshmallow fluff. Guess what I had Terry buy at the grocery store? I love Jiff Peanut Butter and they came out with chocolate peanut butter. Now I want to come up with a recipe, I might make cookies with it.

      • Do you follow Meijer on FB Diane? I don’t know if I followed them, or they are just sponsored ads, but I also get “Meijer’s new finds” by e-mail. I did see that and thought I’d like to try it – oh imagine the chocolate Jif and marshmallow creme. 🙂 I only buy Jif too. Yes, those would be awesome cookies!

      • I look at their website for perks, coupons and the weekly ad when I make my grocery list. I don’t look at FB very much unless I am bored and that doesn’t happen much. Lol
